The winners of the 7th Astra Midseason Movie Awards, presented by the Hollywood Creative Alliance, were revealed on July 3, 2024, on the association's official Twitter page. [1] Previously presented as the Hollywood Critics Association Midseason Film Awards, this year's ceremony were the first midseason awards to be presented under the awards' current name: "Astra". [2]
The nominations were announced on July 1, 2024. The epic science fiction film Dune: Part Two led the nominations with seven, followed by Challengers , Civil War and The Fall Guy with six each; Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga and I Saw the TV Glow received five nominations each. [1] [3] [4]
Dune: Part Two received the most awards with three wins, including Best Picture and Best Director (Denis Villeneuve), followed by Challengers and Love Lies Bleeding with two wins each. [5] [6] [7] [8]

Her work appears in such acclaimed films as Quills (2000), The Curious Case of Benjamin Button (2008), The Social Network (2010), The Tree of Life (2011), Argo (2012), The Revenant (2015), Dune (2021), its sequel Dune: Part Two (2024), and Killers of the Flower Moon (2023). She has been nominated for the Academy Award for Best Costume Design five times.
Greta Jiehan Lee is an American actress. She had supporting roles in the Netflix comedy-drama series Russian Doll (2019–2022) and the Apple TV+ drama series The Morning Show (2021–present). The latter earned her a nomination for the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series. She gained prominence for her starring role in the romantic drama film Past Lives (2023), for which she received a nomination for the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama.
Danielle Deadwyler is an American actress. She began her career appearing on Atlanta stage, including in the 2009 production of For Colored Girls, and made her screen debut in the 2012 drama film A Cross to Bear. Deadwyler appeared in the primetime soap opera The Haves and the Have Nots (2015–2017), the drama series P-Valley (2020), and the miniseries Station Eleven (2021–2022) and From Scratch (2022).
The Hollywood Creative Alliance (HCA) is a group of critics, entertainment journalists, content creators, industry influencers, and creatives. The vision and mission of the HCA is to amplify diversity, equity, inclusion, accessibility, and culture within the world of entertainment. It was founded in 2016 as the Los Angeles Online Film Critics Society and renamed in 2019 to Hollywood Critics Association. In 2023, Hollywood Critics Association ceased operations and a new organization called Hollywood Creative Alliance took its place, with its awards called the Astra Awards.
