#93 Empire is a French hip hop compilation joining some 40 hip hop artists mostly from Seine-Saint-Denis, released on 5 October 2018. French rapper Sofiane wrote the lead single from the album and who launched the project. The album sold 130,000 copies and was certified platinum. Three tracks, "Woah", "Sur le drapeau" and "Empire" were released as main singles from the album in 2018, although 18 of the album's 22 total tracks charted in the French SNEP Top 200 on the basis of downloads of individual tracks.

French hip hop is the hip hop music style developed in French-speaking countries. France is the second largest hip-hop market in the world after the United States.
"Seven Nation Army" is a song by American rock duo the White Stripes. It is the opening track on their fourth studio album, Elephant (2003). V2 Records released the song to American alternative radio on February 17, 2003, as the lead single from the album. Worldwide, the single was issued through XL Recordings. Written and produced by Jack White, the song consists of distorted vocals, a simple drumbeat, and a bass-like riff created by playing a guitar through a pitch shift effect.
Sir John Edward Rowles is a New Zealand singer. He was most popular in the late 1960s, 1970s and early 1980s, and he is best known in New Zealand for his song from 1970, "Cheryl Moana Marie", which he wrote about his younger sister.
"Écris l'histoire" is the debut and most successful single from French singer Grégory Lemarchal. It was released in March 2005 in francophone countries as first single from his album Je deviens moi, where it had a great success, particularly in France and Belgium (Wallonia).
"J'ai demandé à la lune" is the most popular song from the 2002 album Paradize which allowed Indochine to reconnect with the media that had abandoned the band a decade earlier. Indochine had gone through a vast amount of criticism before the release of the song. The song was a staple of the band's success and set the precedent for what French musicians can do. Written by Mickaël Furnon, the singer of Mickey 3D, the song was released as the second single from this album in March 2002, and quickly became a national success, selling over a million units. The album similarly achieved commercial success a few months later.
"Je marche seul" is the name of a 1985 song recorded by the French singer and songwriter Jean-Jacques Goldman. It was released in June 1985 as the first single from his album Non homologué, as tenth track. Though the song failed to reach number one on the French Singles Chart, it remains one of Goldman's biggest hit singles as well as one of the more popular songs live.
Christian Gabriel Ledru Macari is a French music video director and producer from the French West Indies. Through his company, Tchimbé Raid Production, he has released more than 50 videos of Hip Hop, RnB, Reggae-Dancehall and Zouk since 2006. Sans attendre is a French-language studio album by Canadian singer Celine Dion, released by Columbia Records on 2 November 2012. It is her first new French studio album since 2007's D'elles. Sans attendre features sixteen songs produced mainly by Jacques Veneruso, David Gategno and Scott Price. It contains three duets with Johnny Hallyday, Jean-Pierre Ferland and the late Henri Salvador. She collaborated with many musicians on vocals and songwriting prior to releasing her first single, "Dernière danse", in November 2013, which reached SNEP Top 2 in France. She released her first album Mini World in February 2014.
Gandhi Bilel Djuna, better known by his stage name Maître Gims and more recently just Gims, is a Congolese singer-songwriter and rapper. He grew up in France and currently lives in France and Morocco. He is a former member of the hip hop group Sexion d'Assaut and released his first major album, Subliminal in 2013. The album sold over a million copies in France and peaked at number two in the Syndicat National de l'Édition Phonographique. His other two albums follow: Mon cœur avait raison in 2015 and Ceinture noire in 2018 reached number one in France and Belgium (Wallonia) and peaked in the top 40 in various European countries, including Denmark, Italy and Switzerland.

Wanani Gradi Mariadi, better known by his stage name Gradur, is a French rapper of Congolese origin from Roubaix, Hauts-de-France. He first gained recognition from a series of freestyles called Sheguey. He started as part of the rap band 59. Enjoying great following online, he formed his own entourage dubbed Sheguey Squad sheguey meaning "child of the street" in Congolese lingo and released his mixtape ShegueyVara in 2014 with the music video "Traction". His greatly expected debut album L'homme au Bob was released on February 23, 2015 with collaborations from Niro, Lacrim, Alonzo, Kayna Samet, Chief Keef and Migos.

Sofiane Zermani is a French rapper of Algerian descent. He's also known by the name Fianso. Born in Saint-Denis, Seine-Saint-Denis, in the northern suburbs of Paris, he lived in the nearby Stains until age 13 when he moved to Le Blanc-Mesnil.
Amira Kiziamina, known better by his stage name Kalash Criminel, is a Lugano rapper. He is albino and chooses to wear a balaclava, because when his musical activities began, he had to hide his face as his mother didn't want him to rap. However, he received positive reactions for wearing the balaclava, and now wears it by choice. He is signed to Def Jam Recordings and Universal Music. He collaborates often with Kaaris, with whom he notably made the song "Arrêt du Cœur" on his album R.A.S.
