A Giant Dog is an American punk rock [1] band from Austin, Texas. [2] [3] It has been described by Bandcamp Daily as "one of Austin's most thrillingly irreverent bands". [4] It consists of Sabrina Ellis, Andrew Cashen, Andy Bauer, Graham Low, and Daniel Blanchard. [5]

History

A Giant Dog was formed by Sabrina Ellis, Andrew Cashen, and Orville Neeley [6] in 2008. [7] The band released the debut album Fight in 2012. [8] In 2013, the band released Bone. [9] In 2016, they signed with Merge Records. [10] The band's third album, Pile, was released on Merge Records in 2016. [11] The band's fourth album, Toy, was released on Merge Records in 2017. [12] In 2019, they released a full-album cover of Arcade Fire's 2007 release Neon Bible . [13] Ellis and Cashen also form the rock band Sweet Spirit. [14]

Young Marble Giants were a Welsh post-punk band formed in Cardiff, Wales, in 1978. Their music was based around the vocals of Alison Statton along with the minimalist instrumentation of brothers Philip and Stuart Moxham. Their early sound was a sharp contrast with the more aggressive punk rock that dominated the underground at the time. Young Marble Giants released just one studio album, Colossal Youth, in 1980. They also released two EPs and recorded a John Peel session.

...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead, were an American alternative rock band from Austin, Texas, formed in 1994. The band's earliest stable lineup consisted of Conrad Keely, Jason Reece, Kevin Allen and Neil Busch, though for most of the band's history Keely and Reece were the core members with other musicians serving for varying lengths of time. Trail of Dead gathered a hardcore of fans and were well known for their energetic and protracted live performances. Between 1998 and 2023, the band released eleven studio albums and five EPs along with one live album and twenty-two singles. The artwork for all of the albums was created by Keely using various media. This artwork has strong and recurring mythical and historical themes.

Neon Bible is the second studio album by Canadian indie rock band Arcade Fire. It was first released on March 5, 2007, in Europe and a day later in North America by Merge Records. Originally announced on December 16, 2006, through the band's website, the majority of the album was recorded at a church the band bought and renovated in Farnham, Quebec. The album is the first to feature drummer Jeremy Gara, and the first to include violinist Sarah Neufeld among the band's core line-up.
