A Glass of Rage is a Brazilian drama movie made in 1999. It is the first feature film directed by Aluizio Abranches. The screenplay is based on the work of the Brazilian writer Raduan Nassar.

Contents

It premiered at the Berlin International Film Festival and was positively received. It was also well-acclaimed in Brazil, though it received some criticism with its explicit sex scenes. The movie was launched in many countries, such as Italy, where it remained on screen for a whole year.

The film stars Júlia Lemmertz, Alexandre Borges, Marieta Severo, Ruth de Souza, and Lineu Dias as Júlia’s father.

It received six nominations at the 1st Grande Prêmio Cinema Brasil, of which it did not won any award. [3] [4] A Glass of Rage was screened in the Discovery section of the 24th Toronto International Film Festival and in the Panorama section of the 49th Berlin International Film Festival. Something in the Air is a 2002 Brazilian drama film directed by Helvécio Ratton. It is based on the actual history about Rádio Favela, a community radio broadcaster established in Aglomerado da Serra, a favela of Belo Horizonte in the 1980s. It shows how it was persecuted by the police while four friends try to keep the radio. Alexandre Moreno, Adolfo Moura, Babu Santana and Benjamim Abras were chosen to star the film after 3,000 people tried for their roles. It was shot in Aglomerado da Serra and used about 300 of the local people as extras.

O Corpo is a 1991 Brazilian comedy film directed by José Antônio de Barros Garcia, based on the adaptation of Clarice Lispector's homonymous tale. It stars Antônio Fagundes, Marieta Severo, Cláudia Jimenez and Carla Camurati.
