A Sonication is the seventh studio album by the German technical death metal band Obscura. It was released by the music label Nuclear Blast on 7 February 2025.
The album was written and recorded in Studio Fredman in Gothenburg, Sweden, and produced by Fredrik Nordström and Steffen Kummerer. [7] Music videos for the tracks "Evenfall", "Silver Linings", and "In Solitude" have been released. [8]
Obscura embarked on a European tour called “Silver Linings” in February 2025 with bands Rings of Saturn and Gorod. [9] Rings of Saturn have been replaced with Skeletal Remains. They have also planned a North American tour for April and May, with bands Atheist (celebrating the 35th anniversary of their debut album Piece of Time ), Origin, Decrepit Birth, and Fractal Universe. [10] [11] In June the band announced a third major release tour covering mainly Eastern and Southern Europe called “Evenfall” 2025. Supports have been named with Suicidal Angels, Hideous Divinity and Sadist.
All tracks are written by Steffen Kummerer.
