Aanchal was born on 24 October 1979, in Chandigarh, India. [5] She attended St. Stephen's School in Chandigarh, and later graduated from Mithibai College in Mumbai. [6] She began modeling at the age of sixteen after being discovered by the ABCL during a nationwide hunt. [5]
At 20, Anchal won her first beauty pageant, the sixth Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest held in 1999. She went on to represent India at the international contest, the Miss Intercontinental pageant, which was held in Germany. [7] [8] [5]
Since winning Gladrags 1999, Anchal continued modeling and also appeared in minor roles in many Hindi films, such as Fashion and Bluffmaster!. [4] She represented several major brands, including Sunsilk and Bombay Dyeing. [4] In 2007, she received the Best Female Model of the Year Award at the Bollywood Fashion & Music Awards held in Atlantic City, New Jersey. [4]
She has appeared in numerous music videos, including Aaina, Mukhra Tumahra, Dupatta Tera Satrang Da, Back in Bed, and Blind and The Holy Rollers. Aanchal has also appeared on TV shows, winning the celebrity segment of the quiz show Baazi Kiski on Zee TV and participating in Bigg Boss, a Hindi reality show hosted by Salman Khan. Aanchal met Anupam Mittal, the founder and CEO of People Group and Shaadi.com, at an event. [2] [13] [14] After dating for seven years, the couple married on 4 July 2013, in a ceremony in Jaipur. [2] [6] They have a daughter named Alyssa Mittal. [15] [2]

The Gladrags Manhunt and Megamodel Contest is an annual unisex pageant conducted by the Indian Gladrags magazine. The most appealing male and female models are selected and promoted by the magazine.
Aditi Govitrikar is an Indian actress, physician and former model. She is the first Indian woman to win the Mrs. World title in 2001. From 1997 to 2004, Govitrikar remained the only Indian supermodel with both a medical doctor and a psychologist qualification. She has been touted by Hindustan Times as "Beauty with Brains". She is a vegetarian and ardent Vipassana practitioner. She was a contestant on Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi 1 and Bigg Boss 3. Govitrikar won the Gladrags Megamodel Contest in 1996 and the Gladrags Mrs. India in 2000, subsequently winning Mrs. World Contest in 2001.
