Abby Newhook is a Canadian ice hockey forward, currently committed to play for Boston College in 2021.
Newhook began playing hockey at the age of three. Until 2018, she played for the boys' St. John's Hitmen bantam AAA, serving as team captain in the 2017–18 season. [1] She then moved to the United States to play for the Bay State Breakers and Tabor Academy. [2]
She committed to join Boston College in the United States for college hockey when she was 14, the youngest girl from Newfoundland & Labrador to commit to a Division I NCAA team. [3] [4] She will begin studying at the university in the 2021–22 season. [5]
Her brother, Alex Newhook, also played for Boston College and was selected by the Colorado Avalanche in the first-round, 16th overall, of the 2019 NHL Entry Draft. [6] [7]

Kraft Hockeyville is an annual competition sponsored by Kraft Heinz, the National Hockey League and the NHL Players' Association in which communities compete to demonstrate their commitment to the sport of ice hockey. The winning community gets a cash prize dedicated to upgrading their local home arena, as well as the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game. Runners-up also get smaller cash prizes to upgrade their ice rinks. The contest is normally held in the winter and spring during the latter half of the NHL regular season, with the pre-season game usually held in September before the following regular season. If the winning arena is not adequately equipped to host the pre-season game, it is then played at an alternative site nearby.

The Conception Bay Sports Arena, also known as the Bay Roberts Arena, was an open-air ice arena with an artificial ice surface located in Bay Roberts, Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada. The arena was located on the Conception Bay highway at the hub of the communities of Bay Roberts, Coley's Point, Brigus, Shearstown, Harbour Grace and Carbonear. The rink had the first artificial ice surface in Conception Bay but was used less than three years from 1956 to 1958.
The Quebec International Pee-Wee Hockey Tournament is an annual minor ice hockey event in Quebec City. The tournament was founded in 1960 to coincide with the Quebec Winter Carnival, and give an opportunity for international competition to players less than 12 years old. The tournament raises funds for the local Patro Roc-Amadour foundation, and is mostly run by volunteers and a few staff. The event takes place each year in February at Videotron Centre, and previously spent 56 seasons at Quebec Coliseum. As of 2018, the event has showcased the talent of over 1,200 future professionals in the National Hockey League or the World Hockey Association.
