Abdellatif Meftah (born 3 January 1982 in Bouchane, Morocco) is a French long distance runner.
He ran for Morocco at the Pan Arab Games and won a gold medal in the half marathon for his home nation. [1] Transferring his nationality, Meftah represented France at the 2010 IAAF World Cross Country Championships and finished in 40th place. He broke the French record in the half marathon at the Semi-Marathon de Lille in September that year, running a time of 1:00:46 to erase Larbi Zeroual's mark from 1999. [2] At the 2010 European Cross Country Championships he led the French men to the team title, although he just missed out on an individual medal with his fourth-place finish. [3] Meftah moved up a further distance on the roads, making his debut at the 2011 Paris Marathon in April. [4] He was Europe's top finisher at the competition, coming tenth, and completed the course in a time of 2:10:53 hours. [5]

The Lille Métropole Half Marathon is an annual half marathon foot race which takes place in Lille, France, in early September. First organised by the Association de Promotion des Événements Lillois in 1986, the race began as a marathon event before switching to the shorter distance in 1996. The course of the race begins in the Boulevard de la Liberté and finishes at the front of Lille's city hall on Rue de Paris.

At the 2011 Pan Arab Games, the athletics events are currently being held at Khalifa Stadium in Doha, Qatar from 15 to 20 December. A total of 45 events are to be contested, comprising 23 men's events and 22 for female athletes. The track and field events took place within the stadium while the half marathon was contested on a specially-designed course around the Aspire Zone. The shorter track events have a two-round format with qualifying heats and a final race, while the long-distance races and throwing events are contested in a straight final format with no qualifying rounds. In addition to the elite level programme, a total of 30 para-athletics events were contested between athletes with a disability on 21 and 22 December, comprising 25 men's events and five women's events.
