Puntland,officially the Puntland State of Somalia,is a Federal Member State in northeastern Somalia. The capital city is the city of Garoowe in the Nugal region,and its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland had a population of 4,334,633 in 2016. Geographically to the west,Puntland lays claim to the intra-46th meridian territories that were outside European colonial rule during parts of the Scramble for Africa period.
Abdullahi Yusuf Ahmed was a Somali politician and former colonel in the Somali National Army. He was one of the founders of the Somali Salvation Democratic Front,as well as the Puntland state of Somalia,the latter of which he served as the first president. Furthermore,in the southern territories,the clan's settlements span both sides of the Kenya-Somalia border.
Galmudug,officially Galmudug State of Somalia,is a Federal Member State in central Somalia,with its capital at Dhusamareb. It is bordered to the north by the Puntland state of Somalia,to the west by the Somali Region in Ethiopia,to the east by Indian Ocean and to the south by the Hirshabelle state of Somalia.
Over the course of the Somali Civil War,there have been many revolutionary movements and militia groups run by competing rebel leaders which have held de facto control over vast areas within Somalia.
Abdiweli Mohamed Ali Gaas,also more known as Abdiweli Gaas,is a Somali American economist and politician. He served as the Prime Minister of Somalia from June 2011 to October 2012,and briefly afterwards as an MP in the newly formed Federal Parliament. During his time as premier,Ali is credited with having devised the formal "Roadmap for the End of Transition",a political process that provided clear benchmarks leading toward the establishment of permanent democratic institutions in the country. On 8 January 2014,he was elected the 5th President of the Puntland.

Mohamed Omar Eymoy is a Somali politician. He is the former Minister of Labour and Social Affairs of Somalia,having been appointed to the position on 12 January 2015 by the former Prime Minister Omar Abdirashid Ali Sharmarke. However,he only served 2 weeks when on 17 January 2015,Prime Minister Sharmarke dissolved his newly nominated cabinet due to vehement opposition by legislators,who rejected the reappointment of certain former ministers. On 27 January 2015,Sharmarke appointed a new,smaller 20 minister cabinet of which Mohamed Omar Eymoy was replaced by Mohamed Omar Arte. On 6 February,Sharmarke finalized his cabinet,consisting of 26 ministers,14 state ministers,and 26 deputy ministers of which Mohamed Omar Eymoy was reinstated but was now the Minister of Fisheries and Marine Resources. He has now been succeeded by Abdirahman Mohamed Abdi Hashi.
Eng. Mohamed Isse Ali,also known as Col. Mohamed Isse Ganaje,is a Somali engineer,Navy commander,and politician. Lacle has extensive experience in naval warfare,electricity and mechanics,politics and diplomacy. He has taught subjects in naval warfare and engineering in the Technical Maritime Intermediate School of the National Somali Navy and served as director from 1981 to 1982. He served in the Somali Navy from 1975 to 1991 and held several commanding positions at his time before the Somali Civil War broke. He holds the rank of naval captain. He currently resides in Garoe,the capital of Puntland.

Parliament of Puntland concurrently elected Hassan Dahir Afqurac as Puntland's new vice president in place of Mohamed Ali Yusuf.
