Abdul Azim al-Deeb

Abdul Azim al-Deeb (Arabic : عبد العظيم الديب) (1929 - 5 January 2010) was a professor at Qatar University. [1]

Born in Gharbia, Egypt, he was educated in the Al-Azhar primary and secondary schools, and enrolled in the ranks of the Muslim Brotherhood. He studied with Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi and then graduated from the Faculty of Dar El-Ulum, Cairo University. He received a master's degree on the study of the life of Imam Jouini and the effect of his work, and then received a doctorate degree with honors on the same subject.

He moved to Qatar in 1976, where he served as professor and head of the Department of Jurisprudence, Faculty of Sharia of the University of Qatar, His scientific writings on studying the Islamic heritage using scientific methods drew much attention. He continued to work on the heritage of Imam Jouini.

He compiled the jurisprudential masterpiece of Jouini, "Ghiyath al-Umam, Mughith al-Khalq, Nihaya al-Matlab fi Diraya al-Madhhab ("The End of the Quest in the Knowledge of the School"), an Encyclopedia of forty-four volumes with eleven thousand pages, which the scholar Sheikh Yusuf Qaradawi, president of the International Union for Muslim Scholars, described as of "meritorious service to the Islamic library."

The European Council for Fatwa and Research (ECFR) is a Dublin-based private foundation, founded in London on 29–30 March 1997 on the initiative of the Federation of Islamic Organizations in Europe. The council is a largely self-selected body, composed of Islamic clerics and scholars, presided over by Yusuf al-Qaradawi.

Wahbah Mustafa al-Zuhayli born in Dair Atiah, Syria was a Syrian professor and Islamic scholar specializing in Islamic law and legal philosophy. He was also a preacher at Badr Mosque in Dair Atiah. He was the author of scores of books on Islamic and secular law, many of which have been translated to English. He was chairman of Islamic jurisprudence in the College of Sharia at Damascus University, and a signatory to the Amman Message and A Common Word documents.

A misyar marriage is a type of marriage contract allowed by some Sunni Muslims. Yusuf Ziya Kavakçı is a Turkish American Islamic cleric and the father of Turkish politician Merve Kavakçı. He was very influential in establishing Islamic institutions of learning in North Texas.

Muhammād Al-Hasān bin Al-Deddew Al-Shanqītī born 31 October 1963 in Boutilimit, is a Mauritanian Muslim scholar, author, writer, and poet. He is the President of O'lama Information center, and the President of Abdallah ibn Yasin University. He is also head of the country's Center for the Development of Scholars. In 2014 he was the Vice President of the International Union of Muslim Scholars, and he is still a member of it.
