Abdul Hannan (born September 4, 1996) [1] is a Pakistani singer and songwriter. He became known with the release of his songs Faaslay, Iraaday, and Bikhra.

Life and career

Hannan was born in Karachi, Pakistan, and later moved to Lahore. [2] He earned a degree in computer science from the Ghulam Ishaq Khan Institute of Engineering Sciences and Technology (GIKI). [3] After graduating, he returned to Lahore and began working as a software engineer. [4] He started creating music during the COVID-19 pandemic lockdown. [4] In 2020, he released his debut single, Faaslay, followed by Haaray in 2021. [5]

Hannan released further singles in 2022, including Iraaday and Bikhra, both produced in collaboration with Rovalio. [6] [7] [8] Bikhra became the most-streamed song in Pakistan on Spotify upon its release. [9] [10] Iraaday was featured on U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken's Spotify playlist in 2022. In 2023, Hannan collaborated with Annural Khalid on the duet-style composition Kehdena. [14] The following year, he released Zaalima with Hasan Raheem, combining hip-hop and pop elements. [15] In the same year, he collaborated with Indian musician Zaeden on Kya Hua?, a track from the album Zaeden 02. [16]

In December 2022, he performed at the Red Bull Off The Roof music event in Lahore with other Pakistani musicians. [17] Hannan later participated in the event again in 2024, with performances at Forman Christian College in Lahore and FAST-NU in Islamabad. [18] On November 29, 2024, he performed at the "Magical Night 2.0" concert, held at the Bangladesh Army Stadium in Dhaka, Bangladesh. [19] [20]

In 2023, Hannan released his debut EP, Diya, which featured four tracks and was produced with Shahmeer Raza Khan. [21] Hannan made his Coke Studio debut in Season 15 in 2024 with the song, O Yaara, a collaboration with the band Kaavish. [22] [23] [24]

In November 2024, Hannan's Spotify and Apple Music accounts were hacked and used to upload unauthorized and AI-generated music. His team regained control of the accounts. [25] [26] He was among the most streamed artists in Pakistan on Spotify in 2024. [27] [28]
