The National Awami Party (NAP),translated from Urdu to English as National People's Party,was the major left-wing political party in East and West Pakistan. It was founded in 1957 in Dhaka,erstwhile East Pakistan,by Abdul Hamid Khan Bhashani and Yar Mohammad Khan,through the merger of various leftist and progressive political groups in Pakistan. Commonly known as the NAP,it was a major opposition party to Pakistani military regimes for much of the late 1950s and mid-1960s. In 1967 the party split into two factions.

Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo is a Pakistani politician who served as the Chief Minister of Balochistan province of Pakistan from 29 October 2021 till 18 August 2023. He was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan. He was the former Party President of the Balochistan Awami Party.
Asghar Khan Achakzai is a Pakistani politician who had been a member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan from August 2018 to August 2023.
Provincial elections were held in Balochistan on 8 February 2024 to elect a new provincial legislature. On 5 August 2023,after the approval of the results of the 2023 digital census by the Council of Common Interests headed by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif,elections have been delayed for several months,as new delimitations will be published on 14 December 2023.
