Nawab Ayaz Khan Jogezai ; born 28 January 1959) is a Pakistani politician from Northern Balochistan and is serving as the Pashtun Nawab. He became Nawab after the death of Nawab Taimoor Shah Khan Jogezai. While he was still alive, Nawab Taimoor Shah Khan Jogezai nominated Nawab Mohammad Ayaz Khan Jogezai as the next Nawab. He survived an assassination attempt at Killa Saifullah in 1988 but was seriously injured. On the request of the Chairman of Pashtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, Mahmood Khan Achakzai, he joined the party. He was elected as a member of the National Assembly of Pakistan for NA-200 (Zhob-cum-Killa Saifullah in 1993 till 1996. He also remained a member of the Senate of Pakistan from 2003 to 2009. He contested for PB-3 constituency in the 2013 Balochistan provincial election and was successful. He was appointed Provincial Minister of Balochistan for Public Health and Engineering Department in 2013 and remained in office till 2018.

Nawab Zulfiqar Ali Magsi, was the 20th Governor of Balochistan Province since 28 February 2008 to 9 June 2013 as well as the chief executive of Balochistan since 14 January 2013. He is the Nawab and Tumandar of the Magsi Tribe, a former Governor and a former Chief Executive of Balochistan, a senior politician and the former Chief Minister of Balochistan province in the Benazir Bhutto government of 1993–1996. Nawab was appointed as the Chief Executive of Balochistan on 13 January 2013 after the sacking of Aslam Raisani's unpopular government and imposition of Governor's Rule. It was the main after effect of the January 2013 Pakistan bombings. Nawab Magsi did his schooling from Aitchison College, Lahore. He first came to politics in 1977, when he won as an independent candidate seat from his native constituency in the provincial assembly. However, his family was involved in Balochistan politics before Pakistani independence. He served in many provincial ministries and also worked in the Home Ministry in the 1990s. In 1993, his coalition won majority of seats and he became Chief Minister of Balochistan.

On 8 August 2016, terrorists attacked the Government Hospital of Quetta in Pakistan with a suicide bombing and shooting. They killed more than 70 people, mainly lawyers, and injured more than 130 others. The fatalities were mainly advocates (lawyers) who had assembled at the hospital where the body of Advocate Bilal Anwar Kasi, the president of the Balochistan Bar Association, was brought after he was shot dead by an unknown gunman. Responsibility for the attack has been claimed by various Islamist groups like Jamaat-ul-Ahrar and the Islamic State. Between 70 and 94 people were killed and over 120 injured. 54 of those killed were lawyers.

Mir Abdul Quddus Bizenjo is a Pakistani politician who served as the Chief Minister of Balochistan province of Pakistan from 29 October 2021 till 18 August 2023. He was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan. He is a President of the Balochistan Awami Party.
Nasrullah Khan Zayrai, or Nasrullah Khan Bareach, is a Pashtun politician who is elected twice as a Member of the Provincial Assembly of Balochistan, from August 2018 to August 2023 and from May 2013 to May 2018. He is the current Provincial Secretary of PMAP. He is well known for his humanitarian services in his region. He is known for his services in field of education, development, building infrastructure and passing bills on important political and social issues of the province. His speeches in provincial assembly throughout his career as MPA has been full of truth, ground realities and well heard and appreciated by masses. He remained in student politics and was one of the founding member of Pashtoonkhwa Students Organization. He was arrested several times during General Musharraf regime on his pro democratic campaign in educational institutions of Balochistan. He is well learned speaker in Balochistan Assembly. His staunch rivals accepts his honesty and dedication for politics.
Provincial elections were held in the Pakistani province of Balochistan on 11 May 2013, alongside nationwide general elections and three other provincial elections in Sindh, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab. The remaining two territories of Pakistan, Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan, were ineligible to vote due to their disputed status.
Provincial elections were held in the Pakistani province of Balochistan on 25 July 2018. Newly formed Balochistan Awami Party (BAP) emerged as the largest party by winning 24 seats followed by Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal who won 10 seats. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf won 7 seats for the very first time.
