Abdullah bin Hamad bin Abdullah Al Attiya is the Qatari Minister of Municipality. He was appointed as minister on 8 January 2024. [1] [2]
Al Attiya holds a Bachelor in Mechanical Engineering from Cardiff University and a Master in Chemical Engineering from the University of Nottingham. [2] [3] [4]
Al Attiya worked as an engineer at Qatar Petroleum until 2011,when he started working for RasGas,where he became planning manager in 2012. [2] [3]
In 2014,he was Acting Executive Director of the program management office of Qatar’s Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy. [2] [3]
In 2015,he was appointed Director of the technical office [4] and later Vice President of the Public Works Authority (Ashgal). [2] [3]
In 2018,he was appointed CEO of Qatari Diar Real Estate Investment Company. [3] [4] Additionally,he was appointed Vice Chairman to the Board of Directors of Barwa Real Estate Company and then Chairman of the board in 2023. [2]
In 2021,Al Attiya was appointed Deputy Chairman of Katara Hospitality. [5] [6] Additionally,he has been a member of the Board of Directors of the United Development Company and Qatar Free Zones Authority since 2022 and Vice President of the Board of Directors at Al Sadd Sports Club. [2] [7]
Since 8 January 2024,Al Attiya has been the Minister of Municipality. [1]
The Consultative Assembly is the legislative body of the State of Qatar,with 45 members. Following the 2021 Qatari general election,it has 30 elected and 15 appointed members. The body can only question the prime minister,who is appointed by the Emir of Qatar,on his policies if two-thirds of the members agree,which is unlikely given that one-third of the members are appointed by the Emir.
Jassim bin Hamad Stadium is an association football stadium in Doha,Qatar,located about 5 kilometres west from the centre of Doha. It is the home of the Al Sadd Sports Club's association football team,who play in the top-flight Qatar Stars League,and is occasionally used by the Qatar men's and women's national football teams as one of their home grounds. Al-Arabi Sports Club is a Qatari sports club based in the capital city Doha. Founded in 1952,the most prominent team of the club is the football team that competes in the Qatar Stars League. The club's home ground is the 13,000-seat Grand Hamad Stadium,where they have played since their establishment.

He was the president of the Qatar Football Association (QFA) from 2005 to 2023. On 8th January 2024,Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa bin Ahmed Al-Thani appointed as Minister of Sports and Youth.
