Abed Abest (born 1987, in Bandar Abbas, Iran), is an Iranian director, writer and actor. He played roles in Shahram Mokri's films Fish & Cat which Won the Horizon Prize in Venice Film Festival (2013) [1] and Invasion which was Nominated for Teddy Award in Berlin International Film Festival (2018). [2] His first feature film was Simulation (2017), which world premiered in Berlin International Film Festival (2017) forum section [3] and Won the best film award in Spain moving images film festival (2018). [4] His second feature film Killing the Eunuch Khan (2021) is premiered in the 25th edition of Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival. [5] and won the Grand Jury Prize in Breakouts Section at Slamdance Film Festival [6]

The film is notable for being presented in a single, uncut 135-minute shot. The film was first premiered in the Venice Film Festival on 6 September 2013. The film won the Special Award in 2013 Venice Film Festival and the FIPRESCI award in 2014 Fribourg International Film Festival. In September 2015, Fish & Cat was one of ten shortlisted films for Iran's submission for the Best International Feature Film at the 88th Academy Awards, but ultimately was not selected.

Killing the Eunuch Khan is a 2021 Iranian sci-fi - crime film directed by Abed Abest and produced by Shahrzad Seifi. The film set in 1980s in the backdrop of Iran–Iraq War follows a serial killer, who uses his victims to kill more victims. It was premiered in the 25th edition of the Tallinn Black Nights Film Festival (2021). It was also selected to compete in ICFT UNESCO Gandhi Medal at the 52nd International Film Festival of India, where it was screened in November 2021. It also premiered in Slamdance Film Festival in January 2022, and was chosen as the Grand Jury Winner of the Breakouts Features.

She was the executive producer and also played role in Shahram Mokri's feature films Fish & Cat which Won the Horizon Prize in Venice Film Festival (2013). She also produced Simulation and Killing the Eunuch Khan which were directed by Abed Abest. She is the founder and CEO of Hich Film film company. Her last film "Killing the Eunuch Khan" won the Slamdance Grand Jury Award (2022) and premiered at 21st Transilvania International Film Festival.
