Rituparno Ghosh was an Indian film director, actor, writer and lyricist. After pursuing a degree in economics, he started his career as a creative artist at an advertising agency. He received recognition for his second feature film Unishe April which won the National Film Award for Best Feature Film. Having won 19 National Awards, along with his contemporaries Aparna Sen and Goutam Ghose, Rituparno heralded contemporary Bengali cinema to greater heights. Ghosh died on 30 May 2013 in Kolkata after a heart attack. Ghosh was also one of the openly homosexual personalities in Indian cinema.

Baishey Srabon is a 2011 Indian Bengali neo-noir psychological action thriller film directed by Srijit Mukherji, marking his second film after Autograph (2010). The cast consists of Prosenjit Chatterjee, Parambrata Chatterjee, Raima Sen, Abir Chatterjee and director Gautam Ghose, making a comeback after a 29-year absence. The film centers on two journalists and two police officers chasing a vengeful psychopath, who leaves behind couplets from Bengali poems.

It travelled to the Bangkok International Film as well as Kolkata International Film Festival. Their film Bapi bari jaa is considered a cult classic among the Bangla film lovers. It also marked the debut of Arjun Chakraborty and MP Mimi Chakraborty in the Bangla film industry.
Anirban Bhattacharya is an Indian actor, theatre actor, singer and director. His first successful theatre production was Debi Sarpamasta, written by Manoj Mitra, directed by Debesh Chattopadhyay. His other notable works are Anthony Soudamini, Nagamandala, Jara Agun Lagay, Bisorjan, FM Mahanagar, Karu Basana, Awdyo Shesh Rajani, Athoi etc. In 2017, he got the Mahindra Excellence Theatre Awards (META) as Best Actor in a Leading Role (Male) for Awdyo Shesh Rajani. In 2015, he started his film career with the Zee Bangla telefilm Kader Kuler Bou. He got fame for his character as Bishan Roy from the film Eagoler Chokh. For playing this role, he was picked up as the Filmfare Awards East for Best Actor in a Supporting Role in 2017. In 2019, He got his first Best Actor Award for the role of Nikhilesh Chowdhury from the movie Ghawre Bairey Aaj which was immensely praised by critics and audiences. He made his directorial debut through the Bengali crime drama web series Mandaar, which is inspired by William Shakespeare's Macbeth. His second direction Ballavpurer Roopkotha was released on 21 October 2022.

Byomkesh is a Bengali streaming television series based on the Byomkesh Bakshi character created by Sharadindu Bandyopadhyay. The series is based on an ancient Durga Puja celebration of a family, where all members and relatives of the family have come to become a part of the celebration. Meanwhile, an unwanted guest comes who had a mysterious past life and have some long-kept secrets about the family. Dwitiyo Purush is a 2020 Indian Bengali language psychological action thriller film, directed by Srijit Mukherjee and produced by Shree Venkatesh Films. The film stars Parambrata Chatterjee, Raima Sen, Anirban Bhattacharya. It is a spin-off sequel to the 2011 crime thriller, Baishe Srabon. The film follows the pursuit of a new serial killer, Khoka, by Abhijit Pakrashi.
Eken Babu is a Bengali web series streaming on Hoichoi. The web series is based on Ekenbabu detective story, which is written by Sujan Dasgupta. Anirban Chakraborti plays the title role, with Shoumyo Banerjee and Debapriyo Bagchi in supporting roles.
Shei Je Holud Pakhi is a musical thriller Bengali web series which was released on Bengali OTT platform hoichoi on 30 June 2018. The series was directed by Anirban Mallick who previously directed Hello and Eken Babu.
Astey Ladies is a Bengali web series streaming on OTT platform hoichoi from 14 March 2019. Hoichoi also released the dubbed version of the web series named Salon De Paris. This Bengali drama series starring Sandipta Sen, Saayoni Ghosh and Indrasish Roy in the central characters.

Detective is an Indian Bengali thriller-drama film directed by Joydip Mukherjee and produced by Shree Venkatesh Films. Taqdeer is a thriller television series directed by Syed Ahmed Shawki, started streaming on the Bengali OTT platform hoichoi from 18 December 2020. Hoichoi announced their upcoming twenty-five web series, Taqdeer is one of them, Based on Bangladesh, the series features Chanchal Chowdhury, Manoj Pramanik, Sanjida Preeti and Shohel Mondol in the lead roles. The series is officially remade in India in the Telugu language as Dayaa.
Robindronath Ekhane Kawkhono Khete Aashenni is a Bengali web series based on the thriller novel of the same name written by Bangladeshi writer Mohammad Nazim Uddin. The series has been released on West Bengal-based Bengali language OTT platform Hoichoi. It is directed by Indian director Srijit Mukherji. This is the second complete web series directed by Srijit Mukherji and his first work in Hoichoi. Initially, shooting was planned in both countries with the participation of several actors from Bangladesh and India, but due to the COVID-19 pandemic, shooting was done only in India. However, Azmeri Haque Badhon is the only Bangladeshi playing the central character "Mushkan Zuberi".
Mouchaak is a Bengali web series on OTT platform Hoichoi. It is a dark humour series directed by Sayantan Ghosal and produced by Missing Screw Productions. The cast includes Monami Ghosh, making her web series debut as Mou Boudi, Kanchan Mallick, Sourav Chatterjee, Ujan Chatterjee, Suhotra Mukhopadhyay, Debapriyo Mukherjee, Apratim Chatterjee, and Jammy Banerjee.
