Abhinav Singh Kashyap (born 6 September 1974) is an Indian film director and screenwriter, who initially gained recognition for directing and co-writing Dabangg (2010).
Kashyap was born in Obra, Uttar Pradesh where his father worked for the Uttar Pradesh Power Corporation. [1]
He did his primary schooling from Hillgrange Prepratory School in Dehradun. He is an alumnus of The Scindia School, Gwalior and completed his graduation in English Hons from Hansraj College, University of Delhi in 1995. [2]
He is the younger brother of director Anurag Kashyap and Anubhuti Kashyap. [3] [4] [5]
In 2000, he was involved in writing the script of the film Jung. He worked as an assistant to film maker Mani Ratnam for the film Yuva (2004). He also wrote dialogue for the films Manorama Six Feet Under (2007) and 13B (2009). He made his debut as a director in the 2010 action film Dabangg , which he also co-wrote, along with Dilip Shukla. Bollywood actor Salman Khan and debutant actress Sonakshi Sinha played the lead roles in the film. Dabangg was released on 10 September 2010. [6] His second film Besharam was released on 2 October 2013. It was a critical and commercial failure. He also worked as a boom operator in 2012 short film named The Photograph. [7] [8]
On 15 June 2020, Kashyap released a statement on Facebook on the suicide of actor Sushant Singh Rajput, appealing the Maharashtra government to launch a detailed investigation. [16] He accused Salman Khan, his brothers Arbaaz and Sohail and father Salim of sabotaging his career and bullying him. [17] [18] In response, Arbaaz said that the Khan family has started legal action against Kashyap. [19] [20] [21]
When Salim was asked to react to these claims, and he sarcastically said that of course they have ruined his career. Salim said watch his films first and then come to speak to him. [22] Salim further said that Abhinav probably forgot to take his father, Rashid Khan’s name along with his forefathers. [23] Salim concluded by saying that Abhinav can do whatever he wants and that he’s not going to waste time reacting to these accusations. [24] [25]
Kashyap was married to Chatura Rao from 1997 to 2017, they have two daughters. [26] [27] [28] [29]

Ready is a 2011 Indian Hindi-language masala film directed by Anees Bazmee. Produced by T-Series Films, Rawail Grandsons Entertainment and Software Pvt. Ltd., Sohail Khan Productions and Eros International, the film is the official remake of the 2008 Telugu film of the same name directed by Srinu Vaitla. The film stars Salman Khan and Asin Thottumkal in their second film together after London Dreams. Ready was distributed by Wave Cinemas and One Up Entertainment. Khan also narrated the film, while the story was written by Gopimohan and Kona Venkat.

The song is sung by Mamta Sharma and Aishwarya Nigam, with music by Lalit Pandit. Rishi Kapoor, Neetu Kapoor and Javed Jaffrey also feature in the film. Filming for Besharam was scheduled to commence on 10 December 2012, with part of it taking place on a film set in Film City, Mumbai. The film received largely negative reviews upon its release on 2 October 2013.

Anurag Kashyap is an Indian filmmaker and actor, known for his work in Hindi cinema. After writing a television series Kabhie Kabhie (1997), Kashyap co-wrote Ram Gopal Varma's crime drama Satya (1998). Written by Salman, the story follows corrupt cop Chulbul Pandey's journey of conflict when he comes across an old ruffian, Bali Singh, whose plain sight refreshes his memory in a trudge down the past, unaware that this can affect the present and the future in more ways than one.
