Abhora is the stage name of Ryan Maslow, [1] an American drag performer who has competed on the second season of The Boulet Brothers' Dragula as well as the first and second seasons of The Boulet Brothers' Dragula: Titans .

Career

Abhora is a drag performer, and began entertaining under the name at age 24. Their stage name is derived from an "evil version" of Adora, a fellow performer they met while living in Miami. [2] Screen Rant has described her as a "trash queen" and said: "Abhora serves nightmarish artsy looks that look like they crawled out of a horror movie. Her colorful grotesque drag style is immediately recognizable when she appears on stage." [3] In Atlanta, she participated in Phoenix's long-running 12-week drag contest Dragnificent. [4] Abhora has also been part of the cast of The Other Show. [5]

Abhora competed on the second season (2017) of The Boulet Brothers' Dragula as well as the first (2022) and second (2025) seasons of The Boulet Brothers' Dragula: Titans . [6] She placed seventh overall on the first season of Titans. [7] Abhora was cast as part of the Dragula: Titans tour [8] [9] and has been described as a "villain" and a "fan favorite" of the Dragula franchise. [10] [11]

In 2018, Abhora starred in PJ Magerko's Thom Browne-outfitted fashion film Halfway to Halloween. [12] Abhora won Alaska Thunderfuck's Drag Queen of the Year Pageant Competition Award Contest Competition in 2019. [13] [14] For the talent show portion of the competition, Abhora "lurched amidst creepy clowns". [15] In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, Abhora participated in Digital Drag: An Online Drag Show, which was streamed on Twitch and raised funds for out-of-work drag performers. [16] [17]

Personal life

Maslow was raised in Florida and is based in Los Angeles. They use the pronouns they/them and it/its. [6] [18] [19] They have cited their influences to be John Waters, Divine, Jeffree Star, the Club Kids, Marilyn Manson, Camille Rose Garcia, Michael Hussar, Salvador Dalí, Pablo Picasso, Ralph Steadman, Francis Bacon, Robert Rauschenberg, Joan Rivers, Don Rickles, and Daniel Knox. Maslow was based in Atlanta, Georgia [13] and Miami, Florida in 2019, and has previously lived in Asheville, North Carolina. [20] [19]
