The Above the Noise Tour is the worldwide tour undertaken by English pop rock band McFly. The tour was played in support of their fifth studio album, Above the Noise , and their revolutionary band website, SuperCity.
The British leg of the tour was confirmed by band member Danny Jones on the band's ground breaking website, SuperCity. [1] The band originally intended to complete a fourteen-date tour across the United Kingdom, but two weeks before the tour began, they were forced to rearrange the dates of the tour's first three shows, due to Dougie's stint in rehab due to depression and a drink and drug problem. [2] The tour was originally due to begin on 12 March 2011 at the Nottingham Arenam but did not eventually start until 18 March at the Sheffield Motorpoint Arena. The band confirmed, ahead of the tour, that the setlist would contain "The highest number of songs we've ever played", and that there were some "pretty cool things set to happen". Owing to the success of SuperCity, and the band discovering a new legion of fans across the world, further dates were added for Japan and Spain. Harry later announced via his Twitter account that the band were intending to play shows in South America. [3] The band were supported by That Sunday Feeling, City Stereo and The Struts on the UK dates of the tour. The tour marked the band's first live appearances with their new electro-esque sound. Dougie later told the Bournemouth Echo, "Some fans are not into it and played live, our new stuff sounds a lot heavier. But I think it still fits in with all of our old tracks and when the fans hear it live, they will see. My favourite track from the new album is 'Nowhere Left To Run', and I'm really looking forward to playing it live on tour." [4]
The tour received positive reviews from critics. Liverpool Echo gave the tour 8 out of 10 stating "McFly have managed to evolve their music and appeal to a new audience but without leaving any of their original fans behind." [5] The Shields Gazette also gave the tour a positive review: "With a fiery and energetic performance, they kept the crowd going all night long", whilst also mentioning "It was a top show". [6] The Chronicle Live complimented the set of the show, saying "The cavalry had well and truly arrived, while health and safety was thrown out the window as flames started to ascend from the stage and confetti was blasted from cannons" and concluding praising the boys: "With an average age of 25, the boys certainly have time on their side and as long as they can keep their problems behind them, there is no reason to suggest why McFly can’t continue to impress their adoring fans." [7] Bournemouth Echo mentioned the experience of the tour which was "A high-octane rampage that never pauses for one second, the McFly live experience is loud, energetic and thoroughly entertaining." Before the encore, both "Star Girl" and "Five Colours in Her Hair" are performed on a B-stage walkway. Both performances are extended, as during "Star Girl", the band take it in turns to play each other's instruments, and during "Five Colours in Her Hair", the band fire T-shirts into the crowd using a cannon. During "Smile", a number of giant foam balls are fired into the audience, each of which contains one of the four band member emblem's as found on the SuperCity website. During the Wembley show, the band were joined on stage by Tom Fletcher's father, who performed part of the vocals for "Smile". The Wembley show was also filmed live by a camera crew, and was streamed live to fans for a small fee. The stream was designed for fans who were unable to get tickets or could not make it to the show. SuperCity members were able to watch the concert for free. Before the concert began, fans were provided with behind the scenes footage and a Q & A interview session with the band. [9] [10]
Whilst the band were in the process of completing the tour, footage from on and off the stage was recorded for a fly-on-the-wall documentary series, entitled McFly on the Wall . The series, set in six parts, was set to be shown on the recently re-launched digital channel 5*, made by Channel 5. An announcement confirming the series was made on 1 April 2011. The announcement read: "Dougie, Danny, Harry and Tom are now about to go one step further with this new series, which will follow their lives in the most revealing portrait yet." Tom said of the series, "We’re all really excited to have the chance to show our fans what it's really like being in McFly! We'll have a camera crew following us everywhere, so viewers will get a real insight into what goes on behind the scenes." A trailer for the series aired on 23 April, before the official premiere date of 11 May was announced. [11]

With the band set to embark on a fourteen date UK tour in support of the album Above the Noise , things go from band to worse when the first three dates of the tour are heftily rescheduled due to Dougie's stint in rehab following his split from Frankie Sandford. As such, the remaining band members set to promote their brand new single, That's the Truth , without him. The band continue with their busy tour schedule, but problems arise when the tour bus breaks down on the way to an intimate mini gig in London for The Sun's Bizarre column. The band catch a taxi, and manage to arrive on time. Tom is up early for a big day, in which he plans to propose to his long term girlfriend, Giovanna Falcone. Dougie takes a break to go get Tom & 'Gio' a wedding gift, and buys an edible anus chocolate and a pair of oddly-shaped salt and pepper shakers. | ||||

McFly are an English pop rock/pop band formed in London in 2003. The band took their name from the Back to the Future character Marty McFly. The band consists of Tom Fletcher, Danny Jones, Dougie Poynter and Harry Judd (drums). They were signed to Island Records from their 2004 launch until December 2007, before creating their own label, Super Records.
Dougie Lee Poynter is an English musician, songwriter, fashion model, aspiring clothing designer and children's author. He is the bassist of the pop rock band McFly. He won the eleventh series of the ITV reality series I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!.
"5 Colours in Her Hair" is the debut single by English pop rock band McFly. It was also the band's first UK number one. It stayed at the top for two weeks. The song was written by Tom Fletcher, James Bourne, Danny Jones and Ben Sargeant. The track is especially well known for its "Doo, doo, doo, doo, doo, doo!" lyrics, played at the beginning and at the ending of the song. The CD and 7-inch formats features a duet with Busted singing a cover of the Kinks song "Lola".
The Wonderland Tour 2005 is a concert DVD by the pop/rock band McFly. The DVD was filmed during their first arena tour, Wonderland. The majority of concert footage was filmed at the Manchester Arena concert.

Radio:Active is the fourth studio album by English pop rock band McFly. It is the band's first album under their new, self-created label, Super Records. The album was first released via a promotion with the Mail on Sunday on 20 July 2008. The album was officially released on 22 September 2008, with the official release being branded the 'Deluxe Edition'.
The Doll Domination Tour was the second and final concert tour by American girl group the Pussycat Dolls. It was launched in support of their second studio album, Doll Domination (2008). The tour was announced in October 2008 with dates in Europe and Oceania revealed in the following month, the tour contained six legs and 50 shows. It began in Aberdeen, Scotland on January 18, 2009, and concluded in Beirut, Lebanon on July 31, 2009. In-between the first two legs, the group supported the first leg of The Circus Starring Britney Spears in North America. The setlist for the concerts included songs from PCD (2005) and Doll Domination as well a cover of Shirley Bassey's Big Spender. Nineteen shows were submitted to Billboard's boxscore grossing $14.3 million, with 231,711 fans attending the performances.
The Out of Control Tour was the fifth concert tour by British-Irish girl group Girls Aloud. It supported their fifth studio album Out of Control. Initially, just ten dates in bigger arenas were announced in November 2008. Due to demand, more dates were added. Girls Aloud performed thirty-two dates across the United Kingdom and Ireland. The tour commenced on 24 April 2009 at the Manchester Evening News Arena, with the final show on 6 June 2009 in Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.
Radio:Active Live at Wembley is a DVD by English pop punk band McFly. The DVD was filmed at Wembley Arena in London, during their Radio:Active Tour on 27 November 2008. The DVD includes over 80 minutes of concert footage, filmed by Grammy-nominated director Paul Caslin, as well as a 90-minute documentary on the band's tour.
The Work Tour was the debut headlining theatre tour by English-Irish girl group the Saturdays. The tour became the group's first headlining tour, but second time touring. The tour opened on 2 June 2009, and lasted for 24 shows, finishing on 7 July 2009. The tour featured all of their songs from their debut album, a medley of covers, and two new songs that would feature on their then untitled, and up-coming second studio album Wordshaker.
An Evening with The Monkees: The 45th Anniversary Tour, also called Here They Come!: 45th Anniversary Tour, was the fourth and final reunion tour by American pop rock group the Monkees, including Davy Jones, Micky Dolenz, and Peter Tork. Jones died of a heart attack on February 29, 2012. It was the group's first tour in a decade following Monkeemania, which ran from 2001 to 2002. The tour visited the United Kingdom, the United States and Canada. Due to the success of the first North American leg, a second leg was planned for the fall of 2011; however, dates were suddenly cancelled without explanation.
On the Run was a concert tour by English singer-songwriter Paul McCartney. The tour began on 15 July 2011, with McCartney's first two concerts at Yankee Stadium in New York City. McCartney's appearances at Yankee Stadium occurred nearly two years to the day after his 17, 18, and 21 July 2009 concerts at Citi Field, documented on the Good Evening New York City CD/DVD.
All Fired Up! was the third headlining concert tour by English-Irish girl group the Saturdays. It was their first tour of arenas and spanned early/mid December 2011. The tour began on 2 December in Bournemouth at the Windsor Hall and ended on 19 December at the O2 Dublin.
Memory Lane: The Best of McFly is the second greatest hits compilation released by the English pop rock band McFly. It was released on 26 November 2012 as a retrospective of the band's nine-year career to date, containing a number of the band's hit singles, but most notably not including "I Wanna Hold You", "Ultraviolet/The Ballad of Paul K", "Please, Please", "Sorry's Not Good Enough", "Baby's Coming Back", "Stay with Me" or "That's the Truth". The album was preceded by the release of a brand new single, "Love Is Easy", and includes four other new tracks, "Do Whatcha", "Down Down", "Mess Around You" and "Cherry Cola".
Out There was a concert tour by English singer-songwriter Paul McCartney lasting from 4 May 2013 to 22 October 2015. Some notable nights of the tour included concerts at Warsaw's National Stadium, Verona's Roman Amphitheatre, and Vienna's Happel Stadium, the latter of which he would play for the first time since 2003's Back in the World tour. McCartney played in Belo Horizonte, Cariacica, Goiânia and Fortaleza, all in Brazil and in Japan for the first time since the Driving World Tour back in 2002.
McBusted were an English pop-punk supergroup composed of members from bands McFly and Busted. The only member of the original groups not participating in the new lineup was former Busted guitarist and vocalist Charlie Simpson, who instead opted to focus on his solo career and his rock band Fightstar.
The McBusted Tour is a 2014 concert tour by English supergroup McBusted, composed of members of pop rock bands McFly and Busted. It consisted of 36 shows around cities in the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland from April–June 2014. The tour began on 17 April in Glasgow and ended on 27 June in Scarborough.

The Get Weird Tour was the third concert tour and the first worldwide tour held by British girl group Little Mix, in support of their third studio album, Get Weird, announced in July 2015. The tour began on 13 March 2016 in Cardiff, Wales and concluded on 27 August 2016 in Newmarket, England.
