Abu Hena Rony (also known as Dulabhai; born 14 December 1987) is a Bangladeshi stand-up comedian, actor, presenter and model. [1] In 2011, he participated and won the Zee Bangla comedy show Mirakkel season 6 jointly with Vicky and Partha.

Primary life

Rony was born on 14 December 1987 in village Bildahar of Chamari union under Natore district. His father, Abdul Latif is a retired school teacher and his mother, a housewife. Rony was the second child among the four brothers. He started his education at Akannabigha Primary School. After he became a science student by passing the JSC, he passed SSC from Bildahar High School and HSC from Barendra Government College. He completed graduation and post-graduation from the Department of Drama and Music under Rajshahi University.

Career

Comedian

From childhood, Rony tried to give pleasure to his friends by presenting comedy. In July 2011, he participated in the comedy show " Mirakkel ". He took part in the first 40 episodes of this event, and he got the first place in 75% of the episodes. Most of the participants called him Dulabhai as he was so good at comedy. Then, he became the champion of Mirakkel Akkel Challenger 6 along with Vicky and Partha. [2] [3] [4]

Presenter

Besides Comedy, he used to present different shows. In 2019, on NTV, he participated in the comedy show "Ha-Show" as a host firstly. Then, he used to host "Ajker Ananna" on GTV, "Comedy Hour" and "Cine Hour" on ATN Bangla, "Khude Roshikraj" and "Talk Misti Jhal" [5] [6] on Banglavision and "Jadur Shohor" on Boishakhi Television. [7]

Actor

He made his first debut in film by Swapno Je Tui. [8] Then, he acted in the film Podmo Patar Jol directed by Tonmoy Tansen in 2015. [9] The other film acted by him was Tom and Jerry. Later on, he started acting in television series like Kakatuar Deshe, Chatushkon etc. [10]

Partial singer

He had sung so many songs before presenting his jokes in Mirakkel. In 2018, a song "Beche Thakbo Jotodin, Bhalobasbo Totodin" was sung by him which was directed by Asad Sarkar and uploaded by YouTube channel "Bangla Moulik Gaan". [11] [12]

Published books

After winning the champion's title in Mirakkel Akkel Challenger 6, his first book "Mirakkel Jokes Lau Thela" was published in Ekushey Book Fair. [13] Then, in 2015, his second book "Ananda Tie Mati" was published. [14] Other books by him were Khatii Bondhu, Hashir Patro, School of Comedy, Buddhir Proshno Mojar Uttor.

Controversy

In 2017, PM Sheikh Hasina posted a picture of taking a stroll on the sea in Cox's Bazar, Rony put a mocking comment on her post. His post caused an outrage on the social media platform. Later on, he deleted the comment, facing public anger. Later, he got sued for derogatory comment on PM. [15] [16] [17] [18] [19] [20] [21]

Mirakkel is an Indian reality show on Zee Bangla hosted by Mir Afsar Ali and directed by Subhankar Chattopadhyay. It is produced by Subhankar Chattopadhyay Productions. The show features stand-up comedians who are judged by Paran Bandyopadhyay, Sreelekha Mitra and Rajatava Dutta. Mir Afsar Ali or Mir is an Indian radio jockey, television anchor, singer, comedian, actor and media personality. He was the host of Mirakkel, a Comedy show on Zee Bangla and Hi Kolkata on Radio Mirchi. He has given voice over on a show in which suspenseful stories are read named Sunday Suspense on Radio Mirchi. He is also the producer and presenter of a popular Bengali food vlogging channel "Foodka" since 2017.

Abu Hena Mustafa Kamal was a Bangladeshi songwriter, poet, essayist, critic and presenter. In his early life, he was a singer on East Bengal radio and television. He was a professor of Bengali literature at the University of Rajshahi and worked for the government as the Director General of the Bangla Academy from 1986 until his death. He was awarded Ekushey Padak by the Government of Bangladesh in 1987. He published only three collections of poetry before he died of a heart attack in 1989.

<i>Abu Ibrahimer Mirtu</i>

Abu Ibrahimer Mirtu is a Bengali novel written by Shahidul Zahir. This is Zahir's fourth novel posthumously published by Mowla Brothers in 2009. Written against the backdrop of the reign of the then-dictator Hussein Muhammad Ershad, it is a novella, the story of which is rich in connotations and commentary on the human experience. The dedication of the novel reads: "People does die, of course, but the meaning of death is different..." Also includes "A person is inherently dead, or heavier than Taishan, or lighter than a feather" quote by Chinese historian Sima Qian.

Khandaker Abu Nasr Muhammad Abdullah Jahangir, or simply known as Abdullah Jahangir, was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar, professor, author and television presenter. He also made appearances on various national and international television channels discussing contemporary issues relating to Islam including Peace TV, ATN Bangla, NTV, Channel 9 and Islamic TV, and would also participate in public lectures across Bangladesh. He is the founder of As-Sunnah Trust, a non-profit educational charity organisation. During his time as the Professor of Al-Hadith and Islamic Studies at the Islamic University, Bangladesh, 12 students received PhD and 30 received MPhil. Jahangir authored many books pertaining to Islam in Bengali, English and Arabic. His work on Islamic economics is included in the Bangladesh Madrasah Education Board.

<span class="mw-page-title-main">Mohammad Abu Bakr Siddique</span> Bengali Islamic scholar and Pir from Furfura Sharif

Moḥammad Abū Bakr Ṣiddīque al-Qurayshī was a Bengali Islamic scholar and the inaugural Pir of Furfura Sharif in West Bengal. He is regarded by his followers, who are scattered across eastern India and Bangladesh, as a mujaddid (reviver) of Islam in the region, due to his significant contributions in religious propagation via the establishment of mosques and madrasas, publication of newspapers and education development in neglected areas. He was the founding president of the sociopolitical Anjuman-i-Wazin-i-Bangla organisation, which advocated for causes such as the Khilafat Movement and Pakistan Movement. Siddique died in 1943, and his shrine is greatly venerated as one of West Bengal's most prominent Sufi centres.

Mohammad Abu Hena is a former Bangladeshi government official who was secretary. He was the seventh Chief Election Commissioner of Bangladesh.

Abū Naṣr Muḥammad Waḥīd, or simply Abu Nasr Waheed, was a Bangladeshi Islamic scholar, educationist, author and politician. He is best known for his reformations to Islamic education in Bengal, and development of Arabic language education among Bengali Muslims. Wahid also served as the Education Minister of British Assam and a member of the Assam Legislative Assembly.
