The Academy of Medicine of Malaysia is a professional and educational society for doctors in Malaysia. Founded in 1966, the Academy is based in Kuala Lumpur [1] and includes all medical specialities. The Academy's motto is "terus maju" (English: progress ahead/continue to advance).
The Academy of Medicine, Singapore, was founded in 1957 and served both Singapore and Malaysia. The State of Singapore merged with the Federation of Malaya in 1963, but the union ended in 1965. Following the separation of the 2 countries, the independent Academy of Medicine of Malaysia was founded in 1966. The Academy was officially established by the Societies Act (1966) on 22 December 1966. The Academy's mandate includes all medical specialties.
Membership is available to certified specialists who have obtained higher professional qualifications. Members and Fellows are entitled to use the letters AM and FAMM after their names.

The University of Malaya is a public research university located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. Tunku Abdul Rahman Putra Al-Haj ibni Almarhum Sultan Abdul Hamid Halim Shah was a Malaysian statesman and lawyer who served as the first prime minister of Malaysia and the head of government of its predecessor states from 1955 to 1970. He was the first chief minister of the Federation of Malaya from 1955 to 1957. He supervised the independence process that culminated on 31 August 1957. As Malaya's first prime minister he dominated politics there for the next 13 years. In 1963, he successfully incorporated the Federation of Malaya, British North Borneo, Sarawak, and Singapore into the state of Malaysia. However, tensions between the Malay and Chinese communities resulted in Singapore's expulsion in 1965. His poor performance during race riots in Kuala Lumpur in 1969 led to his resignation in 1970. Commonly known simply as "Tunku", Tunku Abdul Rahman is widely regarded, even by his critics, as Malaysia's "founding father", the architect of Malayan independence and of the formation of Malaysia. As such, he is often referred to as Father of Independence or Father of Malaysia.
Tun Hussein bin Dato' Onn was a Malaysian politician who served as the third prime minister of Malaysia from the death of his predecessor Abdul Razak Hussein in January 1976 to his retirement in July 1981. Moreover, he was the Member of Parliament (MP) for Sri Gading from 1974 to 1981, representing Barisan Nasional (BN) and United Malays National Organisation (UMNO). He was granted the soubriquet Father of Unity.

Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws (AIKOL) is the law faculty of International Islamic University Malaysia. Previously known as the Kulliyyah of Laws, it was renamed in 2000 in honour of its founding father and ex-Dean, professor Ahmad Mohamed Ibrahim. Being the first Kulliyyah (faculty) to be formed together with the university, it is now one of the largest law schools in Malaysia and has produced thousands of law graduates since 1983: legal practitioners, shariah lawyers, academicians, legal advisors, deputy public prosecutors, judiciary members, ministers and politicians. Royal Military College is an all-boys military school established to train young Malaysians for service in the Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF). RMC is an elite and prestigious College in Malaysia. It is sometimes dubbed "the Malaya's Sandhurst". On 9 December 1966, in a ceremony held at the college, HM Ismail Nasiruddin of Terengganu, the Yang Di-Pertuan Agong, conferred the "Royal" title to the FMC. This was a great honour for the college as RMC the only educational institution in the history of this nation has the "Royal" title bestowed upon it. Hence since 1966, the former Federation Military College came to be known as the Royal Military College.
