Ada Derana.lk was awarded the Manthan Award South Asia 2010 [1] in the e-News & Media category. The Manthan Award given by the Department of Information Technology of India recognizes and rewards the best e-content from eight countries in the South Asian region. Ada Derana had the distinction of being the only Sri Lankan website among four finalists in the e-News & Media category this year; the other three finalists represented India, Pakistan and Bangladesh. [2]

Ada Derana has been recognized by the ICTA as the Best e-Content application among e-News providers [3] in Sri Lanka. It was recognized for its tr-lingual presentation of news to readers in Sri Lanka and overseas.

In 2010 Ada Derana won the silver award at the "Most popular Web Competition 2010" [4] organized by the Sri Lankan .lk Domain registry.

TV Derana had introduced Sri Lanka's first 24-hour news channel,"Ada Derana 24" as "Ada Derana 24×7" on the 20th of July 2014 as a thought to satisfy the thoughts of the public to analyse the ongoing global affairs. [5]

The Manthan Award is an annual award for South Asia given in recognition of exceptional digital content creation. Nominations are accepted from the public and multiple awards are given in many categories. In 2011 The Hindu referred to the Manthan Award as "one of South Asia's biggest events in information and communications technology for development initiatives." The award is issued by the Digital Empowerment Foundation and was partly inspired by the World Summit Award. It was created on 10 October 2004 and originally restricted to India, but in 2008 was expanded to include other South Asian nations.

Ada Derana Sri Lankan of the Year, is an annual award presented to Sri Lankans who have raised Sri Lanka's profile in the international arena through their careers and lifted the name Sri Lanka globally. The awards are presented by the Sri Lankan television channel, TV Derana. The awards were established in 2016 and are presented in a number of categories including arts, sports and civil servants.
