Adam Craig Sherlip (born March 21, 1984) is the first head coach of the India men's national ice hockey team, which competed in the IIHF Challenge Cup of Asia, hosted by Abu Dhabi, UAE, in 2009 [1] [2] [3] [4] and in Dehradun, India in 2012, [5] the location of India's first ice arena. [6] It was in the 2012 tournament, with Sherlip as coach, that India won its first international ice hockey game. [7] He started coaching ice hockey in India as part of an initiative he started, called "The Hockey Volunteer". [8]
Sherlip discovered hockey in India while coaching in China. [9] As a result of "The Hockey Volunteer" initiative, Sherlip founded The Hockey Foundation, [10] a non-profit that uses ice hockey to help improve life in the communities. [11] The Hockey Foundation's pilot program operates in Ladakh, in the Indian state of Jammu and Kashmir. [11] The Hockey Foundation has donated over 4,000 pieces equipment since 2009. [9] Sherlip and The Hockey Foundation are the subject of the documentary "Disputed Ice," which is currently in development. [12]
Sherlip previously worked for the New York Islanders, [13] and coached hockey at the City Ice Pavilion in Long Island City. [14]
KeyBank Center, formerly known as Marine Midland Arena, HSBC Arena and First Niagara Center, is a multipurpose indoor arena located in downtown Buffalo, New York. It is the largest indoor arena in Western New York, seating 19,070 fans in its normal configuration, and was constructed primarily for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL), who have called the arena home since 1996, when it replaced the now-demolished Memorial Auditorium. The arena was renamed as KeyBank Center starting with the 2016–2017 NHL season. It is owned by Erie County and operated by Pegula Sports and Entertainment.

Aleksey Nikiforov is a Lithuanian ice hockey coach and former player for Dinamo Riga. He is the father of Quad City Storm winger Vladimir Nikiforov. He resides on Long Island where he coaches at The Rinx in Hauppauge, New York and for the PAL Jr. Islanders organization.
The Bolshoy Ice Dome is a multi-purpose indoor arena located in Olympic Park, Sochi, Russia. Opened in 2012, the 12,000-seat arena was primarily constructed to host hockey competitions during the 2014 Winter Olympics. Following the Games, it became the home arena of HC Sochi, an expansion team of the KHL. The arena has also hosted concerts and other events. Prior to the Games, the arena hosted the IIHF World U18 Championships and Channel One Cup in 2013.

KHL Medveščak Zagreb was a Croatian ice hockey club based in Zagreb, established in 1961 and dissolved 2019. The team's name derives from the location of its original arena in the Medveščak area in central Zagreb, with KHL the abbreviation of the Croatian words for "ice hockey club." There are a number of indoor ice rinks in African countries that are used for ice hockey. Enthusiasts have formed national teams in several countries and an inaugural African Nations Cup of Ice Hockey was planned for 2009. The first African Nations Cup of Ice Hockey was planned for South Africa between 19–26 September 2009. The matches of the championship were to be played at the ice rink of "Festival Shopping Centre" in Kempton Park. The competing countries were to be South Africa, Morocco and Algeria. However, the tournament was postponed due to lack of response from the invited countries and never played.

The Qatari national ice hockey team is the national men's ice hockey team of Qatar. They are controlled by the Qatar Winter Sports Committee and has been a member of the International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) since 18 May 2012. Qatar is currently not ranked in the IIHF World Ranking and have not entered in any World Championship tournaments or at any Olympic Games, but have only played once in the Challenge Cup of Asia Division I tournament in 2016, a regional tournament for lower-tier hockey nations in Asia.
Ice hockey is a sport that is slowly gaining popularity in India. Ice hockey is played mostly in places like Ladakh, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir in the north of India, where cold weather occurs and the game can be played outdoors. Ice hockey enthusiasts from other places in the country as well as expatriates from abroad head to places like Ladakh for the experience of playing in some of the highest rinks in the world. There are a few artificial indoor ice skating rinks in the rest of the country, such as the Doon Ice Rink in Dehradun, which can accommodate ice hockey with an international-sized rink.
DNB Arena is an indoor ice hockey rink in Stavanger, Norway, and home to the GET-ligaen side Stavanger Oilers. Opened ahead of the 2012–13 season, the arena has a capacity for 4,500 spectators during ice hockey matches and 6,000 during concerts, including 36 executive boxes. The rink is unusual for Norway in that it has the National Hockey League rink size. The 16,500 square meters (178,000 sq ft) building is designed by Arkitektkontoret Jobb and is named for DNB, a Norwegian banking group.
The Hunter Ice Skating Stadium is an ice sports and public skate centre, opened in 2000 and located in Warners Bay, a suburb of Lake Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia. The stadium serves as the home ice rink of the Newcastle Northstars who compete in the Australian Ice Hockey League and East Coast Super League.

Ice Hockey in Israel is a minor sport. Until the construction of the new arena in Holon, many Israeli hockey players were members of the Canada Israel Hockey School housed at the Canada Centre in Metulla, Israel. Lately, a vast number of new hockey team (/clubs) has been created in the 'center' of Israel, most of them based on roller-hockey players, or young players who started their career in the Holon ice arena.
