Andrzej Biegalski was a Polish heavyweight amateur boxing champion. He reached the quarterfinal round in the World Championships in Havana, 1974.

His achievements include a gold medal at the 2018 World Indoor Championships as well as silver medals at the 2014 World Indoor Championships, 2015 and 2017 World Championships in addition to multiple medals on European level. He twice competed at the Olympic Games, in 2012 and 2016, narrowly missing the final on both occasions.

The event was won by Donald Haldeman of the United States, the nation's first victory in the trap since back-to-back wins in 1912 and 1920. The three total victories tied the United States with Italy for most among nations at the time, though Italy would win the next two and the United States has not win again since. In this Games, Ubaldesco Baldi of Italy took bronze. Silver went to Armando Marques of Portugal, that nation's first medal in the trap.
Zygmunt Kiszkurno was a Polish sport shooter who competed in the men's trap event at the 1956 Summer Olympics in Melbourne, where he finished 15th in a field of 32 competitors. He was born in Brudzew, Turek County and completed high school in 1939 in Warsaw. He trained in Łódź to be a dentist and received a medical degree from the University of Warsaw in 1969. During this time he also served in the Polish Land Forces, eventually achieving the rank of Pułkownik.

The men's trap was a shooting sports event held as part of the Shooting at the 1960 Summer Olympics programme. The competition was held from 15 to 17 October 1964 at the Tokorozawa Clay Pigeon Shooting Range in Tokorozawa, Saitama. 51 shooters from 28 nations competed. Each nation could send up to two shooters. The event was won by Ennio Mattarelli of Italy, the nation's second victory in three Games in the event. Pāvels Seničevs of the Soviet Union took silver. William Morris earned the United States' first medal in the trap since 1924 with his bronze. Seničevs and Morris defeated Galliano Rossini of Italy in a three-way shoot-off for second; Rossini thus just missed earning a third medal in the trap. Defending champion Ion Dumitrescu of Romania finished fifth.

The competition was held from 29 November to 1 December 1956 at the shooting ranges in Melbourne. 32 shooters from 18 nations competed. Nations were limited to two shooters each. The event was won by Galliano Rossini of Italy, with his countryman Alessandro Ciceri taking bronze. Between the two Italians was Adam Smelczyński of Poland, earning bronze. They were the first medals in the men's trap for both nations. Ciceri had to win a three-way shoot-off for the bronze medal against the Soviet pair, Nikolay Mogilevsky and Yury Nikandrov; his win in that shoot-off made the men's trap the only shooting event in 1956 with no Soviets on the podium.

Duncan William MacNaughton Scott is a Scottish swimmer representing Great Britain at the FINA World Aquatics Championships and the Olympic Games, and Scotland at the Commonwealth Games. Scott made history after winning four medals - more than any other British athlete at a single Olympic Games in Tokyo 2020 - and becoming Great Britain's most decorated swimmer in Olympic history. An all-rounder in the pool, Scott has swum internationally in 100 and 200 metres freestyle and butterfly, and 200 metres individual medley. He has won a gold at the Olympics and two golds at the World Championships in 4 x 200 metre freestyle relay, a gold in the 4 x 100 metre medley relay, as well as silvers at the World Championships and Olympics in freestyle and medley relay. Individually, Scott was the 100 metre freestyle champion at the 2015 European Games and 2018 Commonwealth Games, and the 200 metre freestyle champion at the same European Games and the 2018 European Aquatics Championships.
Andrzej Głyda is a Polish sport shooter. He was selected to compete for Poland in two editions of the Olympic Games, and eventually won two career medals, a gold and a silver, in a major international competition, spanning the World and European Championships. Głyda is a member of the shooting team for WSK Śląsk Wrocław, and a resident athlete of the Polish Sport Shooting Federation, where he trains throughout his sporting career under head coach and 1976 Olympic bronze medalist Wiesław Gawlikowski.
