Adichunchanagiri Institute of Technology (AIT) is an engineering college in Chikkamagaluru, Karnataka, India. It was founded in 1980 by Sri Adichunchanagiri Maha Samsthana Math. The college was initially affiliated during inception to the University of Mysore; in 1991 the college was re-affiliated to Kuvempu University when that university came into existence. It is currently affiliated to Visvesvaraya Technological University. [1]

B.M.S. College of Engineering or Bhusanayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah College of Engineering (BMSCE) is a private engineering college in Basavanagudi, Bangalore, India. It was started in 1946 by Bhusanayana Mukundadas Sreenivasaiah and is run by the B.M.S. Educational Trust. It is affiliated with Visvesvaraya Technological University and became autonomous in 2008. BMSCE is located on Bull Temple Road, Basavanagudi, diagonally opposite to the famous Bull Temple. Though a private college, it is partially funded by the Government of Karnataka.

It is responsible for welfare, social justice and empowerment of disadvantaged and marginalised sections of society, including scheduled castes (SC), Other Backward Classes (OBC), LGBT people, the disabled, the elderly, and the victims of drug abuse. Colin Gonsalves is a designated Senior Advocate of the Supreme Court of India and the founder of Human Rights Law Network (HRLN). He specializes in human rights protection, labour law and public interest law. He has been awarded Right Livelihood Award for the year 2017 for "his tireless and innovative use of public interest litigation over three decades to secure fundamental human rights for India’s most marginalised and vulnerable citizens." Considered a pioneer in the field of public interest litigation in India, he has brought several cases dealing with economic, social and cultural rights. Most of these cases, decided by the Supreme Court, have been set as precedents.
Sir Mokshagundam Visvesvaraya, also referred to by his initials, MV, was an Indian civil engineer, administrator, and statesman, who served as the 19th Dewan of Mysore from 1912 to 1918.
National Centre for Promotion of Employment for Disabled People is a New Delhi-based trust established in 1996. It was setup post enachment of 1995 PWD Act to champion the cause of disability rights. The organization's philosophy is that society needs to change traditionally held views of "charity and welfare to those of productivity and empowerment of disabled people". Its founder and first director was Javed Abidi and is currently headed by Arman Ali, who succeeded the founder in October 2018. It operates through a team of Program Managers and Program Officers who work on their specific areas.
Dr Satendra Singh is a medical doctor at the University College of Medical Sciences and Guru Tegh Bahadur Hospital, Delhi. A physiologist by profession, Singh contracted poliomyelitis at the age of nine months but went on to complete a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery from Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, Kanpur and later on Doctor of Medicine in Physiology. He is the first-ever Indian to win the prestigious Henry Viscardi Achievement Awards given to extraordinary leaders in the global disability community.
Jawahar Lal Kaul is an Indian social worker and the founder of the All India Conference of the Blind, an NGO working towards the rehabilitation of the blind. He was honoured by the Government of India, in 2014, which bestowed on him the Padma Shri, the fourth highest civilian award, for his services to the field of Social Work.
Uma Tuli is an Indian social worker, educationist and the founder of Amar Jyoti Charitable Trust, a Delhi-based non-governmental organisation, working for the rehabilitation of physically disabled people. She was honoured by the Government of India, in 2012, with the fourth highest Indian civilian award of Padma Shri.
Tiffany Brar is an Indian community service worker who became blind as an infant due to oxygen toxicity. Brar is the founder of the Jyothirgamaya Foundation, a non-profit organization that teaches life skills to blind people of all ages. She is a trainer, a campaigner for disability awareness and an advocate for an inclusive society.
Meera Shenoy is founder of Youth4Jobs. She works on policy, both with central and state governments, and has implemented projects in scale. Her recent assignment was Senior Advisor UNDP, Skilling & Employment and supporting Mr. Subramaniam Ramadorai, Advisor to the Prime Minister on Skilling, in his capacity as chairman, NSDA.
Rajalakshmi S.J is an Indian disability rights activist. She is also a dentist, educator, and wheelchair pageant winner. Her NGO, SJ Foundation, of which she is chairperson, works for the cause of persons with disabilities. She is a TEDx speaker who regularly participates in wheelchair table tennis tournaments, and an avid driver, driving a customized car. One of the 16 recipients of the 2023 NCPEDP-LTIMindtree Helen Keller Awards; she has also received a national award from Ramnath Kovind, President of India under locomotor disability/cerebral palsy category on occasion of International Day of People with Disability.
