Aditya Sahu is an Indian politician and a member of the Rajya Sabha, upper house of the Parliament of India from Jharkhand as a member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. [1] [2]

Early life

He was born in Kuchu village of Ormanjhi of Ranchi district in state of Jharkhand. He is son of late Chatur Sahu and Daulat Devi. His two elder brother are Kaleswar Sahu and Meghnath Sahu. He had studied M.Com. [3] He married Lalita Devi. He has one daughter and one son. [3] He belongs to Sundhi community. [4]

Career

He was professor of Ram Tahal Chaudhary College till 2019. He is member of BJP since two decades. He was leader of state BJP unit from 2019. [3] In 2022, he was elected as a member of Rajya Sabha. [5]

R.L.P. Verma was a former member of Lok Sabha and a leader of Bhartiya Janata Party. He was elected to Lok Sabha from Kodarma in Jharkhand state in India for six terms. Verma represented Jamua Assembly constituency once, from where he was elected in legislative assembly elections in 1972, on the ticket of Bhartiya Jana Sangh. However, on the call of Jai Prakash Narayan for Total Revolution, he resigned from his legislative assembly membership and became a part of the "Sampurna Kranti movement". He was made a candidate of Janata Party for Lok Sabha elections in 1977, and was subsequently elected to lower house of Indian Parliament. Verma has represented Kodarma Lok Sabha constituency for five terms, making him the longest serving Member of Parliament (MP) from this constituency. He was one of the two Member of Parliament of BJP during transformation of Jana Sangh into Bhartiya Janata Party. Verma played instrumental role in strengthening Bhartiya Jana Sangh and later Bhartiya Janata Party in Bihar-Jharkhand region.

Sita Murmu alias Sita Soren is an Indian politician and a leader of Bhartiya Janata Party serving as a member of Jharkhand Legislative Assembly from Jama. She is daughter-in-law of JMM chief Shibu Soren and wife of late Durga Soren. She was accused of receiving money in voting in 2012 Rajya Sabha election and was in jail for seven months. She is now out on bail.

Dhiraj Prasad Sahu is an Indian businessman and a politician from the Indian National Congress Party. He was elected to Rajya Sabha from the state of Jharkhand on the ticket of INC in July 2010.

In June 2016, she was the party's nominee for the Rajya Sabha biennial elections and was elected unopposed along with Ram Jethmalani from Bihar.

Sampatiya Uikey is an Indian politician who is a tribal leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party from Madhya Pradesh. On 31 July 2017, she was elected unopposed to the Rajya Sabha from the state of Madhya Pradesh in the bypoll necessitated by the demise of Union Minister Shri Anil Madhav Dave. Rajya Sabha elections were held in 2018 to elect the 65 retiring members of the Rajya Sabha, Indian Parliament's upper chamber. There were, as routine, three such elections held among relevant State and Union Territory legislators by single transferable vote (STV) and Open Ballot: on 16 January to elect 3 members from Delhi and 1 member from Sikkim; on 23 March to elect 58 members from 16 States; and lastly on 21 June to elect 3 members from Kerala. Being even-numbered, 2018 was a year in which about 30% of the State Legislature-elected 233-seat component of the body is elected. The other 12 seats of the body are appointed by the President.

Samir Oraon is a BJP Leader. He is a Member Of Parliament Rajya Sabha From Jharkhand and National President BJP ST Morcha. On 23 March 2018 he got elected to the Rajya Sabha by getting 27 first preference votes out of 78.

Annpurna Devi Yadav is an Indian politician who serving as 5th Minister of Women and Child Development since 2024. She is also a Member of Parliament in Lok Sabha from Kodarma, Jharkhand in which she won the 2019 Indian general election as member of the Bharatiya Janata Party. She is also one of the National Vice Presidents of BJP. Previously, she was elected to the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, from Kodarma as a member of the Rashtriya Janata Dal.

2020 Rajya Sabha elections were the set of indirect elections by the members of State legislatures of India, to elect new members to fill vacancies in the Rajya Sabha – the upper house of the Parliament of India. The elections are held annually and throughout the year on an ad hoc basis. The elections in 2020 are for a total of 73 seats of which 55 of them were to be elected by March 26. The remaining were postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. The Election Commission of India later announced all the elections for the remaining 24 Rajya Sabha seats were to be held on 19 June 2020.
