Adrian Thorpe (diplomat)

Adrian Charles Thorpe CMG (born 29 July 1942 in Cambridge) is a British retired ambassador. [1]

Thorpe was educated at The Leys School, Cambridge, and Christ's College, Cambridge, and entered the diplomatic service in 1965. He was the British Ambassador to the Philippines from 1995 to 1998, and Ambassador to Mexico from 1999 to 2002. [2]

Prior to that, he served as Undersecretary for Policy of the Department of Foreign Affairs. He also served as acting Secretary of Foreign Affairs of the Philippines from March 9 to May 17, 2017 when Perfecto Yasay Jr.'s ad-interim appointment confirmation was rejected by the Commission on Appointments due to citizenship issues.
