Adriana Ferreyr (born 18 May 1983) is a Brazilian film, television, stage actress and entrepreneur. [3]
Ferreyr was born in Salvador, Bahia, Brazil, the daughter of Rogério Ferreiro, a civil engineer. [4]
Her acting career started in the theater at the age of eight when she joined the theater company of Fernando Peltier. She acted in several plays, among which: O Jardim das Borboletas (The Butterfly Garden), O Jardim das Abelhas (The Bees Garden), Turma da Mônica (Monica and her pals) and The Sound of Music (A Noviça Rebelde).
While taking classes at the Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro, [5] Ferreyr continued to pursue an acting career and, after two years, landed a role as a lead character in the prime time Sistema Brasileiro de Televisão soap opera Marisol (2002), playing Vanessa Lima do Vale, Marisol's adopted daughter. Ferreyr previously dated George Soros for 5 years. [3] [7] [8] On August 10, 2011, Ferreyr filed a $50 million lawsuit against Soros for fraud, harassment, emotional distress, estoppel and assault and battery. [9] In 2011 Soros tried to dismiss the lawsuit and was unsuccessful. [10] [11] [12] In March 2013, Soros sued Ferreyr for defamation and assault. [12] [13] On April 1, 2014, Soros won a partial dismissal of Ferreyr's lawsuit; the appellate court, in a unanimous decision, dismissed her claims of fraud, infliction of emotional distress and other claims against Soros. The appellate court didn't dismiss Ferreyr's claim of assault and battery, however. [14]
In 2011, Ferreyr owned a retail business selling sunglasses and Christmas ornaments through kiosks in malls on the West Coast of the United States. [3]

Peter J. Nygård is a Finnish-Canadian former fashion executive. In 1967, he founded Nygård International, a Winnipeg-based company that made women's apparel. In 2020, Nygård was accused of long-term sex trafficking, rape, and racketeering after the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) raided his company's offices in New York City. Later that year, he was formally charged and was arrested on sex trafficking and racketeering charges, including allegations of sex trafficking involving minors. In October 2021, Nygård was charged by Toronto police with multiple counts of sexual assault and forcible confinement in incidents that occurred between the mid-1980s and mid-2000s; accusations of sexual misconduct by Nygård date as far back as 1968. As of September 2022, Nygård's criminal trials are ongoing and he has not been convicted of any crimes.

The Baylor University sexual assault scandal was the result of numerous allegations of and convictions for sexual and non-sexual assaults committed by Baylor University students, mostly players in the Baylor Bears football team. During a period from about 2012 to 2016, school officials suppressed reports of rapes and sexual misconduct. In 2016, Baylor's football team came under fire when it was revealed university officials had failed to take action regarding the alleged rapes and assaults. The scandal led to the ousting of head football coach Art Briles, the demotion and eventual resignation of Baylor president Ken Starr, the resignation of athletic director Ian McCaw, and the firing of two others connected with the football program. It also led to the resignation of Baylor's Title IX Coordinator, Patty Crawford. The Taylor Swift sexual assault trial was a legal case held in the United States District Court for the District of Colorado. The trial involved David Mueller, a former DJ, filing for defamation against singer-songwriter Taylor Swift. He claimed she had him wrongfully terminated following an incident at a 2013 meet-and-greet. Swift then counter-sued Mueller for battery and sexual assault, seeking a symbolic $1 in damages. The trial lasted one week, beginning on August 7, 2017, with both Mueller and Swift appearing in court. It concluded on the evening of August 14, 2017, with the jury ruling in Swift's favor and ordering Mueller to pay her $1.
