Adult Film is the second solo studio album by Tim Kasher of the bands Cursive and The Good Life, released on October 8, 2013 on Saddle Creek Records.
Adult Film received a "weighted average" score of 69 on music review aggregation site Metacritic, indicating "generally favorable reviews" based on nine publications. [1] Zac Djamoos of AbsolutePunk.net and Ryan J. Prado of Paste praised the album, with Djamoos remarking, "one of the best albums of the year, and arguably his most versatile yet", [2] and Prado commenting on the songwriting complimenting the music, that "His gifts for wrangling emotive detours from unlikely sonic realms is his best talent, but he couldn’t do that without his crafty capacity for language, too." [3] James Christopher Monger of AllMusic found the album to be "patchwork," calling Adult Film "a smorgasbord of pop ephemera, with melodies crashing about like boozy butterflies, occasionally landing on an idea and then leaping back into the blue in search of less restrictive stimuli" and defining this as a major weakness of the album. [4] American Songwriter's Charlie Zaillian shared similar observations, that "There aren’t many hooks to latch onto...no amount of electronic drums, thickly-layered synths, Spanish guitars and theremins can cover a humdrum set of songs." [5]

Cursive is an American indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska. Stylistically described as emo and post-hardcore, Cursive came to prominence with 2000's Domestica and found commercial and critical success with 2003's The Ugly Organ. The band has released eight studio albums, a compilations album, and a mix of singles and EPs since 1997. They have released recordings on several labels, including 15 Passenger Records, Saddle Creek Records, and Big Scary Monsters (UK).
Timothy J. Kasher is an American musician from Omaha, Nebraska, and is the frontman of indie rock groups Cursive and the Good Life, both of which are on the Omaha-based record label Saddle Creek Records.

Slowdown Virginia was an indie rock band from Omaha, Nebraska. Formed in 1993, the band recorded and released one album, Dead Space, on Lumberjack Records in 1994, the predecessor to today's Saddle Creek Records. After playing an influential role in inspiring the later formation of other Omaha bands like Bright Eyes, The Faint, and Desaparecidos with their energetic live shows and recordings, Slowdown Virginia broke up in the spring of 1995. A month after breaking up, Kasher, Maginn, and Pedersen regrouped with a new drummer to form Cursive. Omaha's mixed entertainment venue Slowdown is named in honor of the band.
Two Gallants are a guitar/drum duo from San Francisco, California. Consisting of Adam Stephens and Tyson Vogel, the band formed in 2002. Two Gallants are often described as punk and blues-infused folk rock, with the band's sound developing deeper into rock and roll on later releases. The band has released five studio albums, two EPs, and several singles since 2004 as well as touring extensively.

Burst and Bloom is an EP by American indie rock band Cursive, released in 2001 on Saddle Creek Records. It is the band's first release with cellist Gretta Cohn. Some lyrics in the song "Sink To The Beat" reference the song-writing process and their record label. This theme would carry over to Cursive's next full length, The Ugly Organ, which again contained songs referencing the song writing process.
The Difference Between Houses and Homes (2005) is a compilation by American indie band Cursive of some of their early material. It is subtitled Lost Songs and Loose Ends 1995-2001. This compilation features songs from The Icebreaker 7", The Disruption 7", Sucker and Dry 7", and the split between Cursive and Small Brown Bike.
Dorothy At Forty was the first single taken from the album Happy Hollow by Cursive. It was released as a teaser for Happy Hollow on July 11, 2006. The album track "Dorothy At Forty" is backed with the exclusive non-album tracks "The Bitter End" and "The Censor". All horn arrangements were done by Nate Walcott.
Thursday / Envy is a split EP by post-hardcore bands Thursday and Envy. It was released exclusively in a package containing the album on both 180 gram 12" vinyl and on CD — individual CDs or vinyl have not been made available. Three limited screen printed editions have been made available exclusively through web stores as of September 15, 2008. The album has since seen a limited release in cassette format, all 500 copies of which were sold exclusively through independent record label, Academy Fight Song's web store.
Dylan Ryan (drummer) (born 1979 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American drummer and composer. He led the progressive-jazz sextet, Herculaneum, and the Los Angeles-based guitar, bass, and drums trio, Dylan Ryan / Sand. He is a founding member, along with Dave (The Diminisher) McDonnell, of Chicago's experimental rock trio, Michael Columbia. He has also performed with Icy Demons, Tim Kasher, Cursive, and Rainbow Arabia.
Is Survived By is the third studio album by American post-hardcore band Touché Amoré. The album was released on September 24, 2013 through Deathwish. The full track listing and artwork was revealed on July 17, 2013. The album's first single, "Just Exist", was released on July 30, 2013, and a music video for the song "Harbor" was released on September 25 the same year.
