Varavelpu (transl. Welcoming) is a 1989 Indian Malayalam-language black comedy film directed by Sathyan Anthikad and written by Sreenivasan, starring Mohanlal, Revathi, Sreenivasan, Thilakan, Murali, Innocent, and Jagadish. The film was produced by K. Rajagopal. It depicted trade union problems plaguing Kerala and the issues created by union members and the dirty politics which is prevalent in present governance and is narrated in a satirical dark comedy
Narendran Makan Jayakanthan Vaka is a 2001 Indian Malayalam-language satirical film directed by Sathyan Anthikkad and written by Sreenivasan. The film stars Kunchacko Boban and Samyuktha Varma and Asin. The story follows Jayakanthan, who comes from Kumbakonam, to his late father's village in Paruthippara, Kannur district, to claim his father's property. The film marks the acting debut of Asin, aged fifteen; however this remained her first and only Malayalam film to date. The film released on 24 August 2001 coinciding with the festival of Onam. The film was remade in Telugu as Idemi Oorura Babu (2002).
