The Advanced Imaging Society is an organization founded in 2009 to represent artistic and technical achievements featuring stereoscopic 3D in visual media, such as television and film. It was formed by several stakeholders: Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures, DreamWorks Animation, Sony Pictures, Paramount Pictures, IMAX, Dolby, Panasonic, and MasterImage 3D. [1] With the organization's partnership to People's Choice Awards, their members will do votes on their favorite films across all of its categories. [2]

Since 2010, the Advanced Imaging Society has presented annual awards (Lumiere Awards; formerly known as 3D Creative Arts Awards) for technical achievements featuring stereoscopic 3D in film, television, and other media. [3]

The American Cinema Editors Award for Best Edited Animated Feature Film is one of the annual awards given by the American Cinema Editors. This award was first given out in 2010. As of 2024, both The Lego Movie and Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse are the only films which have won the award without also winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature.

Digital Revolution Studios was started by Oscar nominated and Emmy winning producer Craig Tanner, who gained a reputation in the stereoscopic industry for his work as Visual Effects Editor of the landmark 3D film, Avatar.
