Aftab Sultan (born 1950 in the Arain family) is the former chairman of Pakistan's National Accountability Bureau. He succeeded Javed Iqbal on 21 July 2022. [1]
Sultan is a law graduate from Punjab University Law College and has a postgraduate and master's degree from the University of Cambridge and the University of Edinburgh respectively. [2] He joined the Police Service of Pakistan as an assistant superintendent of police in 1977 and was promoted to the office of superintendent of police in 1983. He was also Inspector-general of police of the Punjab Police from April 2013 to May 2013. [3]
In 2010,during his tenure at the Intelligence Bureau (IB),he spearheaded a 5,000-page-long report on a case involving a multi-billion rupee Bank of Punjab loan scam. [2] [4] He became director-general of IB in June 2013 and held the post until April 2018. [2] [5]
The Intelligence Bureau is an intelligence and security agency in Pakistan focused primarily on non-military intelligence. Established in 1947,the IB is Pakistan's oldest intelligence agency. DG IB is usually an officer from the Police Service of Pakistan.

Mian Muhammad Hamza Shahbaz is a Pakistani politician,businessman,and the eldest son of current Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif. Maryam Nawaz Sharif is a Pakistani politician,currently serving as the 20th Chief Minister of Punjab,in office since 26 February 2024. She is the daughter of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif and her initial involvement in public life was through her family’s philanthropic organisations. However,her political career began in earnest in 2012 when she took charge of the election campaign for the 2013 general elections. Following the elections,she was appointed as the Chairperson of the Prime Minister’s Youth Programme in 2013. Shahid Aziz is a Pakistani military author and a public official who served as the Chairman of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) from 2004 to 2007,and university administrator of the Federal Urdu University in 2014–16. Aziz,a soldier who was trained in the United States in infantry tactics,saw military actions in war theater with India in 1999 through 2001. After retiring from the military,Aziz was the chairman of the National Accountability Bureau but was forced to resign amid controversy.
Akhtar Hassan Khan Gorchani is a Pakistani diplomat,politician,and former intelligence official. He graduated from Government College,Lahore in 1976. He sat in the competitive exam for the Central Superior Services in November 1980. He was assigned to the Police Service of Pakistan.
Fawad Hasan Fawad is a Pakistani public policy practitioner,former civil servant who served in BPS-22 grade as the Principal Secretary to two Prime Ministers,Nawaz Sharif and Shahid Khaqan Abbasi;and later as caretaker Federal Minister for Privatisation and Federal Minister for Inter Provincial Coordination.
Abdul Aleem Khan is a Pakistani politician and businessman from Lahore. Abdul Aleem Khan currently serves as a member of the National Assembly after being elected from Constituency NA 117,Shahdara Lahore in the general elections held on February 8th 2024. Abdul Aleem Khan owns Samaa TV and Vision Group. He was also the Senior Minister of Punjab and Minister of Food from 2020 to 2021. He also served as a member of the Provincial Assembly of the Punjab from August 2018 to 2021. He announced his separation from politics on Twitter in a tweet. Later in a statement to the media,he said that he had no intentions of joining politics again and that he would focus on the welfare work done through the Abdul Aleem Khan Foundation but soon after the economic crisis and instability in Pakistan,he decided to join politics again and launched the political party along with renowned politician Jahangir Khan Tareen named the Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party in June 2023 to help the natio. He is a founding member and president of the party.

Usman Buzdar is a Pakistani politician who was Chief Minister of Punjab from 20 August 2018 to 30 April 2022,when he was roundly criticised for alleged incompetence. Buzdar was a member of the Provincial Assembly of Punjab from August 2018 till January 2023 representing the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI). Belonging from a Baloch family,he is a minor feudal and the Tumandar of the Baloch tribe Buzdar,since April 2019. He served as Tehsil Nazim of Tehsil Tribal Area from 2001 to 2008.
Hussain Asghar is a retired Pakistani police officer who serves as Deputy Chairman National Accountability Bureau,appointed and took charge in April 2019. Asghar is member of the 15th CTP and is batchmates with Sikandar Sultan Raja,Rizwan Ahmed,Allah Dino Khawaja and Jawad Rafique Malik and retired from active police service in BPS-22 grade. Asghar has previously served as Inspector General of Police in the Government of Gilgit-Baltistan and as Director Federal Investigation Agency.
Rao Sardar Ali Khan is a Pakistani civil servant and police officer who served as inspector-general of police (IGP) of the Punjab Police. He served from 8 September 2021 to 22 July 2022. He is currently serving as IG of Railway Police of Pakistan.
Irfan Qadir is a Pakistani lawyer and jurist who is incumbent Special Assistant to the Prime Minister for Law since 30 April 2024. Previously he served as the Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Accountability and Interior from September 2022 to August 2023.
