Age of Days (formerly Age of Daze) is a Canadian alternative rock band that formed in Fredericton, New Brunswick in 2005.

Band history

Vocalist Tim Morrison, bassist Matt McLaughlin and lead guitarist Jamie Norrad originally met while playing in a local cover band. They began writing and abandoned the cover band scene to focus on original material; guitarist Jon Price joined the band prior to the recording of their first EP in October 2005.

The band released their debut (independent) EP Age of Daze in 2006. [2] The six-song EP was recorded at The Pocket Studios in Toronto, Ontario, and was produced by former Our Lady Peace guitarist Mike Turner. The EP was a modest success and allowed the band to open for such acts as Collective Soul, Wide Mouth Mason and Hedley.[ citation needed ]

The band entered The Pocket Studios again in June 2007, with drummer Pat Pelletier, to record their sophomore CD entitled Hollywood Ending with Turner again at the helm. [3] The album was released through Universal Music Canada on August 19, 2008, and distributed through Fontana North/Universal Music Canada and iTunes worldwide. The first single, "Afflicted", was added to Sirius' Octane channel and was the band's first major exposure in the US market. The song reached No.17 on Canadian Rock charts (BDS), and was No.1 on the Sirius Rock 20 Countdown for two weeks.[ citation needed ] The second single in Canada, Overrated, reached No.28 on the Active Rock charts.[ citation needed ]

In the summer of 2009, Age of Daze completed their first Canadian tour supporting such acts as Hinder, Buckcherry, Papa Roach, Rev Theory, [4] Default, and State of Shock. [5]

The band won a 2009 Canadian Radio Music Award as Best New Group or Solo Artist (Rock). [6] [7] At the 2009 East Coast Music Awards, Hollywood Ending was nominated for Rock Recording of the Year, and "Afflicted" was nominated for Song of the Year. [8] They took part in the 2009 Rock on the Range in Winnipeg, Manitoba, and performed for TLC's Orange County Choppers 10th Anniversary in New York City. [9]

In 2011, Morrison and McLaughlin relocated to Toronto, parting ways with the remaining New Brunswick members. 2011 also brought new management—Mascioli Entertainment, and new guitarist Brent Alvey. It was at this time that they adopted the name Age of Days, signalling a fresh start.

In March 2012, the band began work on Radioactivity with Juno Award-winning producer Brian Howes (Hinder, Nickelback, Puddle of Mudd, Rev Theory, Hedley). Morrison and McLaughlin co-wrote three of the album's songs with Howes, including the lead single Bombs Away, which reached #16 on the Canadian Active Rock charts (Mediabase).[ citation needed ] The second track on the album, Now Or Never, was co-written with Sal Costa [10] (formerly of My Darkest Days) and features Costa on guitar and synths as well as Hinder's Cody Hanson on drums.

In July 2012, Age of Days signed with Canadian indie label Cordova Bay Records. [11] The band then hit the road with the addition of Mike Langford on drums, and Mike Diesel filling in on rhythm guitar. The new lineup debuted at the Boonstock Music Festival in Gibbons, Alberta,. [12]

In early 2013, the band finished recording Radioactivity at J4 Studios in Toronto with producer Justin Forsley and released the album in Canada on April 9, 2013. [13] [14] [15]

The band hit the road in June 2013 on a western Canadian tour, featuring a combination of headline shows and direct support slots for Grammy-winning Pennsylvania band Halestorm. [16] The tour was marred by a collision with a moose near Thunder Bay, Ontario, en route to the first show. But despite the accident, which caused minor injuries and demolished their touring vehicle, the band made every date. Fall 2013 saw the band complete their most comprehensive tour to date, opening for Papa Roach and Pop Evil on a three-band bill. [17] The tour featured dates across North America, beginning in British Columbia and wrapping up in New Jersey. This was the band's first major touring exposure in the US. [18]

In June 2018, Age of Days released a new single and lyric video for their cover of Roxette’s hit song "The Look", featuring guest vocals by Butcher Babies' Heidi Shepherd. [19] In 2021, the band was due to tour with Buckcherry and Bif Naked, but the shows were cancelled due to Covid restrictions. [20]

In 2005, lead vocalist Josh Todd and lead guitarist Keith Nelson reformed Buckcherry with a new lineup and released a new album in 2006, 15. Art of Dying (band)

Art of Dying is a Canadian rock band from Vancouver, formed in 2004 by lead singer Jonny Hetherington and guitarist Greg Bradley. Soon after, the duo added Chris Witoski on rhythm guitar, bassist Matt Rhode, and drummer Flavio Cirillo.

Alias was a Canadian rock supergroup, formed in 1988 in Toronto by songwriter/lead vocalist Freddy Curci and songwriter/lead guitarist Steve DeMarchi of the Canadian arena rock band Sheriff, along with Heart founding members Roger Fisher, Steve Fossen, and Mike Derosier.

Infest is the second studio album and major-label debut by the American rock band Papa Roach. Rev Theory is an American rock band formed in 2002 in North Andover, Massachusetts. The band has released four studio albums: Truth Is Currency (2005), Light It Up (2008), Justice (2011) and The Revelation (2016), as well as three EPs: Revelation Theory EP (2004), Acoustic Live from the Gibson Lounge (2009) and Take 'Em Out (2012). The song "Hell Yeah" was the opening theme song for the popular Spike show Blue Mountain State and the song "We Own The Night" was the main theme song for the WWE Network reality series Breaking Ground. The song "Voices" is currently being used by World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) wrestler Randy Orton.

<i>Saints of Los Angeles</i> 2008 studio album by Mötley Crüe

Saints of Los Angeles is the ninth studio album by the American heavy metal band Mötley Crüe, released on June 24, 2008. It was the first full-length studio album with the band's original lineup since 1997's Generation Swine, following the return of drummer Tommy Lee, and also their final album before their three-year hiatus from 2015 to 2018. The "Dark Horse" Tour was a worldwide concert tour by Canadian rock band Nickelback. It was their first world tour since the conclusion of their massive All the Right Reasons Tour, ending on September 2, 2007, in Kansas City, Missouri. The tour was in support of their new album Dark Horse (2008). Dates were announced on November 26, 2008. Seether and Saving Abel were the opening acts on the tour. On the second half of the North American tour, Hinder, Papa Roach, and Saving Abel were in support. Black Stone Cherry were the support act for the European tour of the UK in May 2009.

Dear Superstar are a hard rock band from Manchester, UK. They incorporate very modern styles of rock and metal with the swagger of old 1980s hair metal. They have had an extensive international touring history with many sold out shows across the UK and Europe. They have played on the same bills as acts such as Bullet for My Valentine, Papa Roach, Buckcherry, Guns N' Roses and Mötley Crüe – helping to build upon their foundations as one of the UK’s brightest hard rock groups. Lazerfest was a music festival, created by the Lazer 103.3 radio station in Des Moines, Iowa. The festival featured rock artists such as Five Finger Death Punch, Halestorm, Falling In Reverse, Young Guns, Devour The Day, and We Are Harlot. The 2015 festival was held Friday, May 8 and Sunday, May 10, 2015 at the 7 Flags Event Center in Clive, Iowa. The festival was discontinued after that.

My Darkest Days Canadian rock band

My Darkest Days was a Canadian rock band based in Peterborough, Ontario, consisting of lead singer Matt Walst, bassist Brendan McMillan, drummer Doug Oliver, and keyboardist Reid Henry. They were discovered by Chad Kroeger of Nickelback, who signed them to his record label, 604 Records. They are best known for their 2010 single "Porn Star Dancing".
