The Districts of Ghana are second-level administrative subdivisions of Ghana, below the level of region. There are 216 districts.
The Ashanti Region is located in south Ghana and is third largest of 16 administrative regions, occupying a total land surface of 24,389 km2 (9,417 sq mi) or 10.2 per cent of the total land area of Ghana. In terms of population, however, it is the most populated region with a population of 4,780,380 according to the 2011 census, accounting for 19.4% of Ghana's total population. The Ashanti Region is known for its major gold bar and cocoa production. The largest city and regional capital is Kumasi.
The Central Region is one of the ten administrative regions of Ghana. It is bordered by Ashanti and Eastern regions to the north, Western region to the west, Greater Accra region to the east, and to the south by the Gulf of Guinea. The Central region is renowned for its many elite higher education institutions and an economy based on an abundance of industrial minerals and tourism. The Central region attains many tourist attractions such as castles, forts and beaches stretched along the Central region's coastline.

The Birim Central Municipal District is one of the twenty-one (21) districts of the Eastern Region of south Ghana. Its capital is Akim Oda. The Birim Central Municipal district was one of the new districts created in 2008 in Ghana.
The Agona East District is one of the seventeen (17) districts in the Central Region of Ghana. Its capital is Nsaba.
The Agona West Municipal District is one of the seventeen (17) districts in the Central Region of Ghana. Its capital is Agona Swedru.
Nyakrom is a town in the Agona West Municipal District of the Central Region of Ghana. The town is known for the Nyakrom Day Secondary School. The school is a second cycle institution. Nyakrom is the sixty-second most populous settlement in Ghana, in terms of population, with a population of 22,911 people.
The Akwambo festival is celebrated by the chiefs and peoples of Agona Nyakrom and Agona Swedru in the Central region of Ghana. The festival is celebrated in the month of August every year.
Agona-Akrofonso is a town in the Ashanti Region of Ghana. The town is an hour's drive from Kumasi, the Ashanti regional capital.
Cynthia Mamle Morrison is a Ghanaian politician and a member of the New Patriotic Party. She is currently the member of parliament for Agona West constituency. On 9th August 2018, she was appointed Minister designate for Gender, Children and Social Protection by President Nana Akufo-Addo.
