Pervez Musharraf is a Pakistani politician and a retired four-star general who became the tenth president of Pakistan after the successful military takeover of the federal government in 1999. He held the presidency from 2001 until 2008, when he tendered his resignation to avoid impeachment.

The Battle of Lahore, also referred to as the Lahore Front, constitutes a series of battles fought in and around the Pakistani city of Lahore during the Indo-Pakistani War of 1965. Indian forces halted their assault on Lahore once they had captured the village of Burki on its outskirts. The rationale for this was that a ceasefire−negotiated by the United States and the Soviet Union−was to be signed soon, and had India captured Lahore, It would have most likely been returned in the process of ceasefire negotiations.

He has consistently been ranked amongst the top three litigators in Pakistan over the last two decades both by reputation and in international rankings in legal publications and amongst the top two litigators in the Sindh High Court in Karachi. Since his return to private practice in 2007 he is globally regarded as the preeminent commercial, taxation and constitutional litigator, arbitrator and arbitration lawyer in Pakistan.

Israel–Pakistan relations refers to the bilateral relations between the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and the State of Israel—which, despite the lack of official diplomatic relations, have been defined by multiple instances of close covert coordination and cooperation during events such as the Soviet–Afghan War and Black September conflict. Both nations were notably established on the basis of a religious identity and similar ideological declarations. Diplomatic ties continue to remain unestablished due to Pakistan's refusal to officially recognize Israel until a viable two-state solution is reached in regards to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. Nevertheless, Pakistan and Israel regularly use their embassies and consulates-general in Ankara and Istanbul, Turkey to mediate and exchange information with each other. A Dawn publishing in 2010 revealed that Pakistan's Inter-Services Intelligence, following up on reports received in Washington, had used its embassy in Ankara to pass on newly-discovered information to Israel's Mossad about potential upcoming terrorist attacks in Mumbai, where a Jewish cultural centre was listed as a major target. This information first surfaced in a WikiLeaks publishing one year after the 2008 Mumbai attacks were carried out by Lashkar-e-Taiba, a Pakistan-based Islamist terrorist organization.

The Lawyers' Movement, also known as the Movement for the Restoration of Judiciary or the Black Coat Protests, was the popular mass protest movement initiated by the lawyers of Pakistan in response to the former president and army chief Pervez Musharraf's actions of 9 March 2007 when he unconstitutionally suspended Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry as the chief justice of Pakistan's Supreme Court.
