Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi is a Nigerian politician,who served as the federal minister of transportation of Nigeria from 2015 to 2022 under the administration of President Muhammadu Buhari. He resigned to contest for Nigeria's presidency under the governing All Progressive Congress (APC). He had previously served as governor of oil-rich Rivers State,from 2007 to 2015 and earlier,as speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly from 1999 to 2007. On 9 April 2022,Amaechi declared interest to contest in the presidential election in 2023. He polled second position in the APC presidential primaries held in June 2022 behind eventual president Bola Tinubu with 316 delegate votes against Tinubu's 1271 votes.
The Nigeria Police Force is the principal law enforcement and the lead security agency in Nigeria. It was designated by the 1999 constitution as the national police of Nigeria,with exclusive jurisdiction throughout the country. As at 2021,it had a staff strength of about 371,800. There are currently plans to increase the force to 650,000,adding 280,000 new recruits to the existing 370,000. The Nigeria Police Force is a very large organisation consisting of 36 State commands and Federal Capital Territory (FCT) grouped into 17 zones and 8 administrative organs. As at July 2024,the NPF is headed by IGP Kayode Egbetokun. In 2020,it underwent major overhauls.
The National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) is a federal law enforcement agency in Nigeria under the Federal Ministry of Justice charged with eliminating the growing,processing,manufacturing,selling,exporting,and trafficking of hard drugs. The agency was established by Decree Number 48 of 1989. The NDLEA is present in international airports,seaports,and border crossings. The NDLEA also targets the leaders of narcotics and money laundering organizations.
The Independent Corrupt Practices Commission is a Nigerian agency that was inaugurated on 29 September 2000 following the recommendation of President Olusegun Obasanjo. The mandate is to receive and investigate reports of corruption and in appropriate cases prosecute the offender(s),to examine,review and enforce the correction of corruption prone systems and procedures of public bodies,with a view to eliminating corruption in public life,and to educate and enlighten the public on and against corruption and related offences with a view to enlisting and fostering public support for the fight against corruption. The Corrupt Practices and other Related Offences Act 2000 governs the committee's activities.
Mohammed Buba Marwa,is a retired Nigerian army brigadier general,who is serving as the Chairman of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) since January 2021. He previously served as governor of Lagos State from 1996 to 1999 during the military regime of General Sani Abacha and Abdulsalami Abubakar and governor of Borno State from 1990 to 1992 during the military regime of General Ibrahim Babangida.

Anti-corruption war was an anti-graft campaign launched by the government of Muhammadu Buhari,the 6th democratic President of Nigeria. This is a war against all forms of corruption in Nigeria. During the president's election campaign in 2015,he had vowed to fight against corruption and insecurity if elected. Since his election in April 2015,anti-graft war remain one of his topmost priority. The U.S. Secretary of State,John Kerry,at the World Economic Forum held at Davos in Switzerland extolled Buhari's the anti-corruption fight.In October 2015,the United Kingdom pledged her support for Buhari's anti-corruption war. According to Grant Shapps,the minister for international development,"UK is fully committed to helping Nigeria increase its security,stability and prosperity. "We would continue to provide capacity building,technical and investigative support to Nigeria to tackle corruption. Corruption in Nigeria also affects the UK directly. Where we have evidence,we will continue to take action to protect the integrity of the UK's financial system and prevent. Some Nigerian described the war as "perfect" while others described it as "selective". William Kumuyi,the founder and general overseer of Deeper Christian Life Ministry described Buhari's anti-corruption war as a step in right direction. However,the president has been criticized and accused of leading a selective war against corruption. Several people claimed that his war against corruption focus on members of the opposition party,the People's Democratic Party.
General elections were held in Nigeria on 23 February 2019 to elect the President,Vice President,House of Representatives and the Senate. The elections had initially been scheduled for 16 February,but the Electoral Commission postponed the vote by a week at 03:00 on the original polling day,citing logistical challenges in getting electoral materials to polling stations on time. In some places,the vote was delayed until 24 February due to electoral violence. Polling in some areas was subsequently delayed until 9 March,when voting was carried out alongside gubernatorial and state assembly elections.

Ajuri Obari Ngelale is a Nigerian broadcast journalist and politician who served as presidential spokesman to president Bola Tinubu. He previously served as presidential senior special adviser on public affairs to former president Muhammadu Buhari and was a co-principal spokesperson of Bola Tinubu presidential campaign council for the 2023 Nigerian general election which they won.
