He is also a temporarily self-suspended member of the International Olympic Committee. He has worked in the fields of oil, engineering, water and electricity, and communication and construction. He was a member of the FIFA Council from 2015 to 2017. He was convicted for fraud in a Swiss court on 10 September 2021, which prompted his resignation from the Olympic Council of Asia and continued suspension from the International Olympic Committee.
Nasser Salih Nasser Abdullah Al-Attiyah is a Qatari rally driver and sport shooter. He was the 2006 Production World Rally Champion, 2014 and 2015 WRC-2 champion, a 16 time Middle East Rally Champion, five times winner of the FIA World Cup for Cross-Country Rallies, and a five times Dakar Rally winner. His five victories in the Dakar Rally make him the only Middle Easterner and West Asian to win the competition more than once.

Nasser Givehchi was an Iranian featherweight freestyle wrestler. He competed at the 1952 and 1956 Olympics and won a silver medal in 1952. He ranked fifth at the 1954 World Wrestling Championships and won a bronze medal at the 1958 Asian Games. After retiring from competitions he had a long career as a national wrestling coach and international referee.
Malak El-Nasser is a Syrian Olympic athlete. She represented Syria in 1972 Summer Olympics in Munich. She is the first Syrian woman ever to participate in the Olympics.
