Ajoy Bose

Ajoy Bose (born 1952) is a Bengali-Indian author, political journalist [1] and television commentator. [2] His books include For Reasons of State: Delhi under Emergency (1977, written with John Dayal) on the Emergency; The Shah Commission Begins (1978, with Dayal); [3] Behenji (2009), a biography of Indian politician and social reformer Mayawati; [4] and Across the Universe: The Beatles in India (2018). [5]

His writing has appeared in the publications Scroll.in , [6] Quartz , [4] Outlook , [7] Economic and Political Weekly [8] and Firstpost . [9] In 2021, he made his directorial debut with the documentary film The Beatles and India . [10] He has worked as a resident commentator for CNN-News18. [11]

The Turkman gate demolition and, subsequent, massacre was an infamous case of political oppression and police brutality during the Emergency when people, protesting against the demolitions of their homes, were mowed down on orders from Indira Gandhi's Union government, on 31 May 1976. An official account of the number of people killed at Turkman gate is not available and the media was not allowed to cover the protests and massacre. One local guide claimed that nine of his friends were killed by the police. More than ten bulldozers razed down illegal structures and homes, and protestors were fired upon by police.

Founded in 2011, the portal publishes fake news reports, comic strips, mock transcripts, fake Facebook and Twitter conversations among other formats, combining irreverent humour with biting satire in its commentary on current events. The Unreal Times has been referred to as The Onion of India, most notably by tech blog makeuseof.com. The Unreal Times shut down in November, 2016 for unknown reasons.

The Family Man is an Indian spy thriller streaming television series created by Raj & DK for the streaming service Amazon Prime Video and features Manoj Bajpayee as Srikant Tiwari, a middle-class man secretly working as an intelligence officer for the Threat Analysis and Surveillance Cell (TASC), a fictitious branch of the National Investigation Agency. It also stars Priyamani, Sharad Kelkar, Neeraj Madhav, Sharib Hashmi, Dalip Tahil, Sunny Hinduja and Shreya Dhanwanthary. The series is produced and directed by Raj & D.K, who also co-wrote the story and screenplay with Suman Kumar, with dialogue penned by Sumit Arora and Kumar. Bombay Begums is an Indian drama streaming television series for Netflix created by Alankrita Shrivastava, who also co-wrote the script along with Bornila Chatterjee and Iti Agarwal. The series directed by Shrivastava and Chatterjee, is produced by the Los Angeles-based Chernin Entertainment and Endemol Shine Group, which features Pooja Bhatt, Shahana Goswami, Amruta Subhash and Plabita Borthakur in the lead roles, which was narrated by Aadhya Anand. The series marks the comeback of actress Pooja Bhatt. It explores the lives of five ambitious women from various walks of life navigating through their dreams, desires and disappointments, from boardrooms to society's margins, in modern-day Mumbai. <i>Paatal Lok</i> Indian web series

Paatal Lok (transl. Netherworld) is an Indian Hindi-language crime thriller web television series on Amazon Prime Video, created by Sudip Sharma, who wrote the script along with Sagar Haveli, Hardik Mehta and Gunjit Chopra, and directed by Avinash Arun and Prosit Roy. The series was produced by Anushka Sharma, under the banner Clean Slate Filmz, and stars Jaideep Ahlawat, Gul Panag, Neeraj Kabi, Swastika Mukherjee, Ishwak Singh, and Abhishek Banerjee.
