Akash Dasnayak (born 17 September 1981),popularly known by the film industry name Akash,is an Odia film actor and politician known for doing action-oriented movies. [1] He was also the MLA of Korei Constituency.
He was born at Jajpur Road on 17 September 1981 in Odisha,India to Mayadhar Nayak and Indira Das. He graduated from Vyasanagar College,Jajpur Road (LLB) from Utkal University. His aunt Anita Das was a veteran film actress. He debuted in the Odia film industry in 2008 with film Kalinga Putra ,receiving a Best Actor award. Since then,he has acted in several movies like Mita Basichi Bhoota Saathire and Just Mohabatt.
Byasanagar or Vyasanagar is a town and a municipality in Jajapur district in the state of Odisha,India. Colloquially it is also called Jajpur Road. It is home to an industrial belt and hosts several steel companies including Neelachal Ispat Nigam Limited,MESCO,Tata Steel,Jindal Steel etc. According to district officials there are around 14 major companies and several small companies in the vicinity. Mo Duniya Tu Hi Tu is a 2013 Indian Odia drama film directed by Sudhakar Basanta and starring Anubhav,Barsha and Minaketan in pivotal roles with original soundtrack by Malay Misra. It was a remake of Tamil film Unnidathil Ennai Koduthen.
Kaunri Kanya is the first 3D Oriya horror film,directed by debutant director Soumya Ranjan Sahu. The film stars several debutant actors. The film was also dubbed into Tamil. It is the first Oriya film to feature an underwater sequence which was shot in Vizag. She is also known for her renditions of light music such as traditional Odia folk music,Odia film music and adhunika songs. In 2022,she was awarded the Padma Shri for he contributions to Odissi music.
