Alan Malcolm Clarkson OBE (12 September 1936 – 2010), was a male swimmer who competed for England.
He represented England in the 440 yards freestyle at the 1958 British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff, Wales. [1] [2]
He was the manager for the 1970, 1974 and 1978 Commonwealth Games teams and in 2004 he was appointed an OBE and received a long service award from the British Olympic Association in 2007. [3]
He was educated at Nunthorpe Grammar School and was an accountant by trade. His was married to Pauline Musgrave. [3]

Michael Anthony McFarlane OBE was a British athlete who competed mainly in the 100 metres and 200 metres. He won an Olympic silver medal in the 4 × 100 metres relay at the 1988 Seoul Olympics, and was the 200 m gold medallist at the 1982 Commonwealth Games and a 60 metres gold medallist at the 1985 European Athletics Indoor Championships. McFarlane won two further sprint medals at the 1986 Commonwealth Games.
Adrian Peter Metcalfe was a British athlete and broadcaster. He set a UK record for the 400m in 1961 and won silver relay medals at the 1962 British Empire and Commonwealth Games, the 1962 European Athletics Championships and the 1964 Summer Olympics. He moved into broadcasting, first as a commentator, then as head of sport at Channel 4 and then at Eurosport. He held roles at the International Olympic Committee and International Association of Athletics Federations and was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire (OBE) for services to sport in 2001.
