Alban Lendorf (7 September 1989) is a Danish ballet dancer, choreographer, and actor, who was a principal with the Royal Danish Ballet and the American Ballet Theatre. He also was a guest artist with the English National Ballet [1] and the Stanislavski Ballet. [2]

He transitioned to acting following his retirement from dance at the age of 29. [3]

Education

Lendorf was born in Copenhagen, Denmark in 1989. He was trained at the Royal Danish Ballet School, which follows the Bournonville method.

Dancing career

Lendorf became an apprentice at the Royal Danish Ballet (RDB) in 2006 upon graduation from the school, and in 2008 he joined the corps de ballet . He was appointed soloist in 2010, and was promoted to principal dancer in April 2011 at the age of 21.

He danced with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT) from 2013, first as an exchange artist, then as a guest principal, before joining the company as a principal in 2015.

He left the RDB in 2018 and the ABT in 2019, and ended his dancing career following a knee injury. [3] He remains involved with the RDB as a choreographer and teacher. [2]

<i>Flower Festival in Genzano</i>

The Flower Festival in Genzano is a one-act ballet by Danish choreographer and ballet master August Bournonville (1805–1879). Bournonville created the work for Denmark's Royal Ballet on December 19, 1858, at the Royal Danish Theatre, on the basis of Danes' general enthusiasm for Italy. The libretto, which is adapted from a tale in Impressions de voyage by Alexandre Dumas, tells the story of a pair of young lovers, Rosa and Paolo, which alludes to the festival still celebrated each June in Genzano, Italy. The music is by Edvard Helsted and Holger Simon Paulli.

Yvonne Borree is a former principal dancer at New York City Ballet. She was raised in Norfolk, Virginia, where she began her dance studies with the Tidewater Ballet Association at four years of age.

Gonzalo Garcia is a Spanish American ballet dancer. He joined the San Francisco Ballet in 1998, and was promoted to principal in 2002, at age 22. In 2007, he left the company and joined the New York City Ballet. He retired from performing in 2022 and remains in the company as a repertory director.
