Club Alcobendas Rugby is a Spanish rugby team based in Alcobendas, Spain.

History

The club was established in 2003 by local fans from Alcobendas, and played its first ever season in División de Honor that year, occupying the place formally occupied by Moraleja. [1] Other past teams from Alcobendas includes Teca Rugby Club (1972–1990), Club España Urogallos (1979–1990), Alcobendas Rugby Club (1990–1999), Club de Rugby La Moraleja–El Soto (1990–1999), Moraleja Alcobendas Rugby Unión (1999–2003), Club Alcobendas Rugby (2003– ).

Las Terrazas

Polideportivo José Caballero

In certain occasions, depending on the state of Las Terrazas' pitch or on the match, Alcobendas played at the rugby field of Polideportivo José Caballero in Alcobendas, in the section 17 of Nacional I. Said playing field was inaugurated by the Maori All Blacks in 1990 during a match against Spain. As of currently, the sports complex is used by the third grade team and the club's lower grade teams.

Campo de Rugby Las Terrazas is a Spanish rugby union stadium in southwest Alcobendas, Madrid. It is the home ground of the local team, Alcobendas Rugby, which plays in the División de Honor league, and was home to the now defunct club Moraleja Alcobendas Rugby Union. In 2009, during the Liga Superibérica season, it was one of the home fields of the Madrid-based rugby franchise Gatos de Madrid. The stadium also hosted the 2021–22 División de Honor de Rugby final between Alcobendas Rugby and VRAC Quesos Entrepinares, as well as the 2022 Rugby Europe Women's Championship match between Spain and Russia.

Jaime Nava de Olano is a Spanish retired rugby union player. He was a Spanish rugby union (FER) and sevens international. In addition to being frequently called up for Spain, he was also captain; with 79 caps, he is the second player with most international caps for his country. Currently he collaborates with FER as rugby ambassador for Spain. Furthermore, in the later years he was known publicly after his stint on the RTVE cooking show MasterChef Celebrity and for his role as secondary actor in the series La Unidad, aired by Movistar+. In October 2020 he published his first book TEAM! Lecciones y valores del rugby para la vida (Diëresis).
