As established in the Colombian Constitution of 1991,women in Colombia have the right to bodily integrity and autonomy;to vote;to hold public office;to work;to fair wages or equal pay;to own property;to receive an education;to serve in the military in certain duties,but are excluded from combat arms units;to enter into legal contracts;and to have marital,parental and religious rights. Women's rights in Colombia have been gradually developing since the early 20th Century.

In 1992,the amendment of the Paraguayan Civil Code finally recognized equality between men and women. The wording of Article 1 of Law 704/61 was simple:“Reconócese a la mujer los mismos derechos y obligaciones políticos que al hombre.”
María Odilia Castro Hidalgo (1908–1999) was a Costa Rican teacher,communist and feminist. She founded the parent organization which would become the National Association of Educators. Exiled for her communist activities after the Costa Rican Civil War,Castro later returned and founded several social welfare programs. She taught for 32 years and served as a nurse in Costa Rica and Venezuela. Castro was admitted to the Costa Rican National Institute for Women (INAMU)'s Gallery of Women in 2006.
Ana Rosa Chacón (1889–1985) was a Costa Rican educator,health education practitioner,feminist and suffragette. In 1953,in the first election held after women became enfranchised in Costa Rica,Chacón became one of the first three women elected to serve in public office.

In early 2000,she created and developed the concepts of social cyberfeminism,and a year later those of feminist hacktivism. Another of her main areas of work is gender violence and communication. She has also stood out as a defender of the right to communication and citizenship rights for women. Since 1986,she has been a journalist for the Information Services of Televisión Española (TVE),in the international section.
Soledad Murillo de la Vega is a Spanish feminist sociologist,researcher,and politician. Since 9 June 2018 she has been the Secretary of State for Equality in the government of Pedro Sánchez. From 2004 to 2008 she was the Secretary General for Equality of Spain's Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs,occupying the top political position in matters of equality in the government of JoséLuis Rodríguez Zapatero. From 2009 to 2013 she was part of the United Nations' Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women (CEDAW) Committee,and from 2011 to 2015 she was a member of the City Council of Salamanca for the Spanish Socialist Workers' Party (PSOE).
Laura Nuño Gómez is a Spanish political scientist,researcher,and feminist activist. She is director of the Gender Studies Chair of the Institute of Public Law and the Gender Equality Observatory at King Juan Carlos University (URJC),as well as the creator of the first academic degree in Gender Studies in Spain,and of various postgraduate programs in this subject. She is the author of El mito del varón sustentador,as well as about 30 articles and books about her research. Since the enactment of the Law for Effective Equality of Women and Men,she has been one of the three expert members of the State Council for the Participation of Women.

The Ministry of Women,Genders and Diversity is a ministry of the Argentine Government tasked with overseeing the country's public policies on issues affecting women and gender and sexual minorities. The ministry was created in 2019,as one of the initial measures of President Alberto Fernández;the first and current minister is Elizabeth Gómez Alcorta.
Esther Pineda G.,often published as Esther Pineda,is a Venezuelan sociologist and feminist writer. She has written sociological studies,essay collections,and poetic anthologies about misogyny in the history of Western philosophy,the connection between machismo and violence against women,and racial discrimination,particularly against Afro-Venezuelans. Pineda holds a PhD in sociology,and her writing frequently uses tools of sociological analysis.
Isabel Agatón Santander is a Colombian poet,lawyer,writer and feminist. Promoter of the Rosa Elvira Cely Law which defines femicide as a crime in Colombia,she integrated the editorial commission of Law 1257 of 2008 about violence against women. She was a judge in the Tribunales de Conciencia de Justicia Para las Mujeres in Nicaragua (2015) and El Salvador in which they tried cases of sexual violence and femicide convened by the Red Feminista frente a la Violencia contra las Mujeres (REDFEM) and the Red contra Violencia of the respective countries.
Amelia Rueda Ahumada,born in Buenos Aires on October 3,1951,is a Costa Rican journalist who began her career in 1974 and has been practicing for more than 40 years.
Alicia Elena Pérez Duarte is a Mexican lawyer and researcher who focuses on human rights and women's legal status. She is a member of the Sistema Nacional de Investigadores and a co-founder of the Programa Universitario de Estudios de Género at the National Autonomous University of Mexico. In addition to her work in private legal practice,she has served as a magistrate for the Superior Tribunal of Mexico City,as technical secretary for the Commission investigating femicides in Ciudad Juárez,and as a special prosecutor for crimes against women.
