Alejandro Parada (born 5 July 2004) is a Cuban long jumper. [1]

Career

He won the silver medal in the long jump at the 2022 World Athletics U20 Championships in Cali, Colombia in August 2022. [2]

He won long jump gold at the 2023 Central American and Caribbean Games in San Salvador June 2023. [3] He dedicated the win to his compatriot and Olympic medalist Maykel Massó, who suffered an injury during the competition. [4] In August 2023, he reached the final of the long jump at the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest, where he placed tenth overall. [5] [6] He won a silver medal in the long jump at the 2023 Pan American Games in Santiago in October 2023. [7]

Alejandrina Mireya Luis Hernández, often referred to as Mireya, is a Cuban former volleyball player and three-time Olympic gold medalist. She won gold medals at the 1992, 1996, and 2000 Olympics with the Cuban women's national volleyball team. She was the captain of the Cuban team from the late 1980s until her retirement.

The men's long jump was an athletics event at the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. There were 54 competitors from 41 nations, with one athlete not starting. The maximum number of athletes per nation had been set at 3 since the 1930 Olympic Congress. The event was won by 21cm by Carl Lewis of the United States, the nation's fourth consecutive and 20th overall gold medal in the men's long jump. Lewis himself had won the four straight victories, becoming the third Olympian to win the same event four times in a row as well as the only man to win four long jump medals. It was the ninth and final Olympic gold of Lewis's career. James Beckford earned Jamaica's first medal in the event. Joe Greene matched his bronze from 1992, becoming the ninth two-medal winner in the event.

Alexis Copello is a Cuban-Azerbaijani triple jumper who since 2017 competes internationally for Azerbaijan. He has a (legal) personal best jump of 17.68 metres (58.0 ft). He is a World Championship medalist, having won the bronze at the 2009 World Championships in Athletics. He is 1.85 metres tall and weighs 80 kilograms (176 lbs).

Caballero also was the Central American and Caribbean champion in 2011 and the 2011 Pan American Games bronze medallist.

Irene Martínez Tartabull was a Cuban track and field athlete who competed in the long jump and the short sprints. She was the first woman from the Central American and Caribbean region to clear six metres in the long jump. She was also the first Cuban to win a jumps gold medal at the Pan American Games – a discipline in which the country later became highly successful.
