Sui Wenjing / Han Cong of China, the 2018 silver medalists, won the event. Evgenia Tarasova / Vladimir Morozov, representing the Russian Olympic Committee, won silver, and Anastasia Mishina / Aleksandr Galliamov, also of ROC, bronze.
