Aleph Sailing Team is an all-French yacht racing team that competes in match racing style sailing.

Yacht racing type of sport

Yacht racing is a form of sport involving sailing yachts and larger sailboats, as distinguished from dinghy racing. It is composed of multiple yachts, in direct competition, racing around a course marked by buoys or other fixed navigational devices or racing longer distances across open water from point-to-point. It can involve a series of races when buoy racing or multiple legs when point-to-point racing.

Team French Spirit

The team was founded in 2009 with Philippe Ligot as managing director and Bertrand Pacé as skipper. It first competed in the Louis Vuitton Trophy Nice Côte d’Azur as Team French Spirit. In 2010 it began competing as Aleph Sailing Team. It was later renamed Aleph-Équipe de France after a paternship with the Équipe de France was decided.

Bertrand Pacé is a French sailor competing in match racing. He won the 1994 World Match Racing Championships in La Rochelle, France.

Louis Vuitton Trophy Nice Côte d’Azur

The Louis Vuitton Trophy Nice Côte d’Azur was the first in a series of regattas that compete for the Louis Vuitton Trophy. The regatta was held in Nice between 7 and 22 November 2009. The Louis Vuitton Trophy format uses existing International America's Cup Class yachts loaned to the regatta by various America's Cup racing syndicates, keeping costs relatively low for the competing teams.

In April 2012, after competing in the first 3 events of the 2012 ACWS, Aleph-Équipe de France announced its withdrawal from both the 2012 ACWS and the 34th America's cup, citing financial reasons and lack of sponsorship.

Americas Cup World Series

The America's Cup World Series are match races and fleet regattas used as heats for the 2013 America's Cup and the 2017 America's Cup.

In August 2011, LunaJets announced its partnership with Aleph Sailing team for the 2012, RC44 sailing race circuit. [1] The partnership continues for its third consecutive year in 2014. [2]

In the final, Emirates Team New Zealand beat Luna Rossa Challenge by seven races to one, and went on to challenge Oracle Team USA for the 2013 America's Cup.
