Ancient is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1992. The band released six full-length albums released by Metal Blade Records to date and a variety of mini-albums, EPs and special releases. Ancient used to have the classic raw black metal sound, similar to Darkthrone's works. Beginning with The Cainian Chronicle, they moved towards a more Nordic/atmospheric black metal sound, akin to Emperor and a cleaner production. After a period of turmoil concerning their line-up, they went on to add gothic-style instruments such as violins, a female vocalist, and synthesizers to their music.

Gian Pyres is an English guitarist, best known for his work with extreme metal band Cradle of Filth for which he recorded guitars for Cruelty and the Beast (1998), Midian (2000), Bitter Suites to Succubi (2001) and Lovecraft & Witch Hearts (2002). He appeared on their DVDs Heavy, Left-Handed and Candid (2001), Live Bait for the Dead (2001) and Peace Through Superior Firepower (2005), and appeared in Alex Chandon's Cradle of Fear (2001). In addition he has appeared in music videos for From the Cradle to Enslave (1999), Her Ghost in the Fog (2000), Born in a Burial Gown (2001) and Scorched Earth Erotica (2002). He also appeared with Cradle of Filth on BBC's Living with the Enemy (1998).
Theatres des Vampires is an Italian gothic metal band, mostly noted for the predominant theme of vampirism within their lyrics. The band's early material was credited as melodic black metal or symphonic black metal, but the group completely abandoned all black metal influence by the mid-2000s. Theatres des Vampires have released eleven full-length albums.
Lord Tim is the professional name of Australian musician Tim Ian Grose. Based in Wollongong, New South Wales, he is best known as the founder of the heavy metal band Dungeon. The band started in 1989, released several albums, and was considered one of the leading metal bands in Australia. When the band broke up in 2005 after an international tour with Megadeth, Lord Tim continued its legacy with another band he had created, LORD, for which he is singer, guitarist and principal songwriter.

Vampyrìsme... is the fifth studio album by Italian band Theatres des Vampires, released on September 15, 2003 by Beyond... Productions. It is a re-recorded version of the band's 1996 debut album Vampyrìsme, Nècrophilie, Nècrosadisme, Nècrophagie. The album was re-recorded entirely by Theatres des Vampires with guest appearances from former Cradle of Filth guitarist Gian Pyres and Christian Death vocalist Valor Kand. The album has also four new bonus tracks.
Nightbreed of Macabria is the sixth studio album by the band Theatres des Vampires. This album is their first to not contain any black metal influence and is credited as a pure goth metal release. This was also frontman Lord Vampyr's last album with Theatres des Vampires.

Naer Mataron is a Greek black metal band which draws on imagery from Greek mythology. The band was formed in 1994 after splitting from Nar Mataron, and was soon signed to Black Lotus Records, with whom they released four studio albums. Moving through numerous line-ups, the band has seen influences from other genres of music, including a traditional black metal release and songs featuring elements of melodic black metal and industrial music.
De Vampyrica Philosophia is the debut solo studio album by Italian extreme metal vocalist Lord Vampyr, released on 6 February 2005 through Officina Rock Records. The album was Lord Vampyr's first release following his departure from Theatres des Vampires. The title is a pun on the famous occult treatise De Occulta Philosophia.
Cain is an Italian black/thrash metal band formed and based in Rome. In 2007, their first studio album, Triumvira, was released through Vampyria Records. It was well received by the critics; Italian webzine TrueMetal.it awarded it a 79 out of 100. Horror Masterpiece is the third studio album by Italian extreme metal vocalist Lord Vampyr, released on 25 March 2010. Beginning with this album, Lord Vampyr abandoned the symphonic black metal style of his previous two releases, shifting to a more industrial-like tone.
Carpathian Tragedies is the second solo studio album by Italian extreme metal vocalist Lord Vampyr. It was released on 3 February 2009 through Zero Effect Records. This would be the last album on which Lord Vampyr would play symphonic black metal; in the following album, Horror Masterpiece, he would shift to an industrial/gothic direction.
Vampyria is a compilation album by Italian extreme metal vocalist Lord Vampyr, released on 21 December 2010, and his sixth release overall. The album is a compilation of two Lord Vampyr EPs – the previously-unreleased Vampyria, recorded in 2010, and Blood Bathory, released in 2007.
Year of No Light is a French post-metal band formed in Bordeaux in 2001. On their 2006 debut album Nord, the band combined a dark and aggressive sludge metal sound with psychedelic atmospheres inspired by post-rock and shoegazing. In 2008, they underwent a significant line-up change, replacing their vocalist by a third guitarist and a second drummer to become an instrumental sextet. Thereafter, Year of No Light integrated black metal, doom metal, drone and dark ambient influences on the albums Ausserwelt (2010) and Tocsin (2013).
Gothika Vampyrika Heretika is the fourth solo studio album by Italian extreme metal vocalist Lord Vampyr, released on 21 September 2013 through Crank Music Group. The album continues the industrial/gothic sonority started with 2010's Horror Masterpiece, while reincorporating some of the symphonic/extreme metal elements of his first two records.
Blood Bathory is an EP by Italian singer Lord Vampyr, released in 2007. It is a loose concept album, whose lyrics are based on old Hungarian and Romanian vampire-related folktales.
