The bourgeoisie are a class of business owners, merchants and wealthy people, in general, which emerged in the Late Middle Ages, originally as a "middle class" between peasantry and aristocracy. They are traditionally contrasted with the proletariat by their wealth, political power, and education, as well as their access to and control of cultural, social, and financial capital.
Louise Joséphine Bourgeois was a French-American artist. Although she is best known for her large-scale sculpture and installation art, Bourgeois was also a prolific painter and printmaker. She explored a variety of themes over the course of her long career including domesticity and the family, sexuality and the body, as well as death and the unconscious. These themes connect to events from her childhood which she considered to be a therapeutic process. Although Bourgeois exhibited with the abstract expressionists and her work has a lot in common with Surrealism and feminist art, she was not formally affiliated with a particular artistic movement.
Alexander Baumann, is a Canadian sports administrator and former competitive swimmer who won two gold medals and set two world records at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Los Angeles. In 2007, he was regarded by the CBC, the national broadcaster, as "the greatest swimmer in Canadian history", as the twin Olympic gold medals were Canada's first in swimming since 1912.

The United States men's national water polo team represents the United States of America internationally in men's water polo.
Alexandre Charles Sixte "Alex" Jany was a French freestyle swimmer and water polo player. As a swimmer, he competed in 100–400 m events at the 1948, 1952 and 1956 Olympics, alongside his sister Ginette Jany-Sendral, and he won bronze medals in the 4 × 200 m relay in 1948 and 1952. In 1948 he placed fifth-sixth in the individual 100 m and 400 m events; he won those events at the 1947 and 1950 European championships, setting world records in both in 1947. At the 1960 Olympics he competed only in water polo and placed ninth. In 1977 he was inducted into the International Swimming Hall of Fame.
Maia Harumi Shibutani is a retired American ice dancer. Partnered with her brother Alex Shibutani, she is a two time 2018 Olympic bronze medalist, a three-time World medalist, the 2016 Four Continents champion, and a two-time U.S. national champion. The siblings have won six titles on the Grand Prix series and stood on the podium at 14 consecutive U.S. Championships, at five levels including eight as seniors. They are two-time members of the US Olympic team, competing at the 2014 and 2018 Winter Olympics. In 2018, the siblings became the first ice dancers who are both of Asian descent to medal at the Olympics. They are the second sibling duo to ever share an ice dancing Olympic medal, and the first from the United States. The Shibutani siblings are often referred to by their nickname the Shib Sibs.
Joël Denis Bourgeois is a middle and long-distance runner competing for Canada. He represented Canada twice at the Summer Olympics in 1996 and 2000.
Alexandra Morgan Carrasco is an American former professional soccer player who last played as a striker for San Diego Wave FC of the National Women's Soccer League (NWSL), which she was the captain of, and the United States national team. The Alberta Pandas ice hockey team represents the University of Alberta in the Canada West Universities Athletic Association of U Sports. Yvonne Bourgeois was a French tennis player. She competed in the doubles event at the 1924 Summer Olympics with compatriot Marguerite Billout. They reached the semifinal in which they lost in straight sets to Phyllis Covell and Kathleen McKane. In the bronze medal match they lost to Dorothy Shepherd-Barron and Evelyn Colyer, also in straight sets.
Eye Benches I, II and III is a 1996–1997 series of outdoor sculptures by Louise Bourgeois, installed at Olympic Sculpture Park in Seattle, Washington. The installation includes three sets of two functional benches. The sets are individually known as Eye Benches I, Eye Benches II, and Eye Benches III.
Lloyd Bourgeois was an American athlete. He competed in the men's triple jump at the 1928 Summer Olympics.
Bourgeois revolution is a term used in Marxist theory to refer to a social revolution that aims to destroy a feudal system or its vestiges, establish the rule of the bourgeoisie, and create a capitalist state. In colonised or subjugated countries, bourgeois revolutions often take the form of a war of national independence. The Dutch, English, American, and French revolutions are considered the archetypal bourgeois revolutions, in that they attempted to clear away the remnants of the medieval feudal system, so as to pave the way for the rise of capitalism. The term is usually used in contrast to "proletarian revolution", and is also sometimes called a "bourgeois-democratic revolution".
Alexander Brant "Alex" Bowen is an American water polo player. He competed in the men's tournament at the 2016, 2020 and 2024 Olympics. Bowen is a product of Santana High School and Stanford University.
