Alexis Jordan is a National-Record-holding swimmer from Barbados. She swam for Barbados at the 2006 Commonwealth Games, 2006 Central American and Caribbean Games, 2005 World Championships, and CARIFTA and CCCAN Championships. [1]

Caribbean Free Trade Association

The Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA) was organised on May 1, 1968, to provide a continued economic linkage between the English-speaking countries of the Caribbean. The agreements establishing it came following the dissolution of the West Indies Federation which lasted from 1958 to 1962.

The CARIFTA Games is an annual athletics competition founded by the Caribbean Free Trade Association (CARIFTA). The games was first held in 1972 and consists of track and field events including sprint races, hurdles, middle distance track events, jumping and throwing events, and relays. The Games has two age categories: under-17 and under-20. Only countries associated with CARIFTA may compete in the competition.

Deandra Dottin Barbadian cricketer

Deandra Jalisa Shakira Dottin is a Barbadian international cricketer and former track and field athlete. A right-handed batter and right-arm fast bowler, Dottin made her debut for the West Indies women's cricket team in June 2008. She plays as a hard-hitting lower-order batter, and scored the first century in a women's Twenty20 International in 2010. In August 2016 it was announced she had signed to play for the Brisbane Heat in the Women's Big Bash League. She played in her 100th Women's One Day International (WODI) match, when the West Indies played India in the group stage of the 2017 Women's Cricket World Cup, on 29 June 2017.

Dexter Lee Jamaican sprinter (born 1991)

Dexter Lee is a Jamaican sprinter who specialises in the 100 and 200 metres. He became the first athlete to win back-to-back titles at World Junior Championships in Athletics when he won the 100 metres in 2008 and 2010.

The 6th CARIFTA Games was held in Bridgetown, Barbados on April 25–26, 1977. For the first time, the Austin Sealy Award was presented to the athlete adjudged the most outstanding, either in terms of record accomplishment, or quality of performance as compared to other top medallists.

2007 CARIFTA Games

The 36th CARIFTA Games was held in the National Stadium on the island of Providenciales, Turks and Caicos Islands, on April 7–9, 2007. Detailed reports on the results were given.

2009 CARIFTA Games

The 38th CARIFTA Games was held in the George Odlum National Stadium in Vieux Fort, Saint Lucia, on April 10–13, 2009. Detailed reports on the results were given.

2013 CARIFTA Games

The 2013 CARIFTA Games took place between March 30-April 1, 2013. The event was held at the Thomas Robinson Stadium in Nassau, Bahamas. A report of the event was given for the IAAF. The games mark the seventh time in which the event was held in The Bahamas. The other years being 1976, 1978, 1981, 1984, 1992 and 2002.

2015 CARIFTA Games

The 2015 CARIFTA Games took place between 3 and 6 April 2015. The event was held at the Silver Jubilee Stadium in Bird Rock, south-eastern suburb of Basseterre, Saint Kitts and Nevis. During the games, the stadium was officially renamed the "Kim Collins National Athletic Stadium" in honour of the country's 2003 100m world champion Kim Collins. It was the second time after 2008 that the event was hosted by Saint Kitts and Nevis.

Akela Jones Barbadian athlete

Akela Jones is a Barbadian track and field athlete who holds Barbadian records in the women's heptathlon, pentathlon, long jump and high jump. She won gold in the long jump at the 2014 World Junior Championships. In 2015, she was NCAA champion in the heptathlon and won bronze in the high jump at the Pan American Games.
