Alhassan A. Kamara (born 13 January 1993), [1] commonly known as Crespo, is a retired Sierra Leonean footballer.

Career

Kamara started his career with FC Kallon and joined Bodens BK, competing in Division 1 Norra, on 29 July 2011. He scored five goals in 10 games during his five months on loan at Boden. [2] The striker signed a contract on 5 October 2011 with AIK. [3] [4]

During the first half of the 2012 season, he made 11 appearances for AIK. After the summer he was loaned out to Örebro SK, where he made four goal in eight appearances. On 24 January 2013 it was announced that he again was loaned to Örebro SK, for the rest of 2013. After the season Örebro SK decided to buy him from AIK, where he struggled to make an impact after failing to score in fourteen league appearances.

After getting injured early in the 2014 season, Kamara scored his first goal on 9 August against Mjällby AIF. He then proceeded to score, ending the season with 14 goals in the 12 last games despite often being substituted off in the second half (he played 90 minutes in 7 out of 19 games). He averaged one goal every 65 minutes in the last 12 games of the season, finishing with a hat trick in 7 minutes against BK Häcken. [5]

On 2 June 2012 he made his senior international debut for Sierra Leone in a 2014 FIFA World Cup qualification game against Cape Verde. [6]

On 2 September 2018, Greek Super League club Panetolikos officially announced the signing of Sierra Leonean international Alhassan Kamara Crespo until the end of 2019-20 season. The 25-year-old striker was recently released from Häcken, after two successful seasons at the Swedish Allsvenskan. [7]

After a spell with IFK Värnamo, Kamara announced his retirement from football on 23 September 2021 after several years of problems with a knee injury. [8]

AIK had a sensational season, winning 14 league matches by the odd goal, to claim their first domestic title since 1998, also winning the cup final against IFK Göteborg, also title rivals in the league, which was decided in a straight run-in between the two candidates. There, AIK turned around a 1–0 deficit to win 2–1 and claim the title, more than enough, considering a draw had landed the title as well. Key players in the title success included goalkeeper Daniel Örlund, conceding just 20 goals all season, plus new defensive general Jos Hooiveld, midfielder Jorge Ortiz and striker Iván Obolo, all of them departing following the title success.

For the 2005 season, AIK Fotboll was relegated to the second flight Superettan, just six years after playing Barcelona, Arsenal and Fiorentina in the Champions League of 1999–2000. Following relegation, AIK changed coach to Rikard Norling, and after a shaky start, AIK soon were at the top of the table, promoted back into Allsvenskan, as arch rivals Djurgården won the national title.

The 2012 Allsvenskan, part of the 2012 Swedish football season, was the 88th season of Allsvenskan since its establishment in 1924. The 2012 fixtures were released on 12 December 2011. The season started on 31 March 2012 and ended on 4 November 2012. There was a five-week-long break between 24 May and 30 June during the UEFA Euro 2012. Helsingborgs IF were the defending champions, having won their fifth Swedish championship and their seventh Allsvenskan title the previous season.

The 2018 season was Hammarby Fotboll's 103rd in existence, their 49th season in Allsvenskan and their 4th consecutive season in the league. They competed in Allsvenskan and Svenska Cupen during the year. League play started in early April and lasted until early November. Stefan Billborn made his first season as manager.

The 2018–19 Svenska Cupen was the 63rd season of the Svenska Cupen and the seventh season with the current format. The winners of the competition will secure a spot in the second qualifying round of the 2019–20 UEFA Europa League, unless they had already qualified for European competition in the 2019–20 season, in which case the qualification spot will go to fourth-placed team of the 2018 Allsvenskan. Malmö FF were the defending champions after winning the title in the previous season, and they defended the championship in the 30th and final round on 4 December 2021 and secured their 22nd Swedish championship title by playing a scoreless tie at home against Halmstads BK, resulting in Malmö FF winning the title on better goal difference than the runner-up (AIK). This was the first time the title was defended since 2017, and the third consecutive defense of the title that went to Malmö FF, having also defended the title in 2014.

The 2022–23 Svenska Cupen Damer is the 40th edition of the women's association football main cup competition in Sweden.
